They are loyal, they can't argue, they are fun, they can do outdoor activities, and they are always their when we need them. Not to mention my dog always had a sense when I was upset and he was there to support me.

people say a dog is a man's best friend because dogs will protect their owners even at risk to themselves. Dogs senses are better than humans and they know when danger is around and can alert their owner. Of course this is only if your dog likes you if it hates you well then it could probably care less if something happened to you. But to be truthful too just about any animal can be man's best friend. If there is a fire in your house and you're asleep dogs, cats, birds, and even house pigs have been known to alert their owners that something was wrong. So this would make all these animals man's best friend. I think they just use "dogs" because a lot of people tend to like dogs as pets more than other animals.

I have a dog who I love very much , he refused to leave my
wife's side while she was dieing from cancer , and now
that she is gone , he is with me faithfully , he doesn't care
if my breath stinks like beer or if I come home late, he loves
me for who I am , and I in return love him as an equal

no, dog is woman's best friend. my dog is my baby. he thinks he's a lap dog, and he weighs 50 lbs. he crushes me, but it makes him happy.
