I have a solution. Why don't we just buy Mexico? That way, everybody will be a legal citizen, and we can fix up their country for them. Anybody have any other solutions?

Send them back and let them fix up their own country with the money we give them...We have our own country to worry about and cant even get that right!!

Acquisition of Mexico is not a bad idea!!! : D

- - - - -

First of all...

Building a wall will not fix anything!

This is not a flood!!! [The wall (ocean) should be built in Louisiana! This is money that would be better spent on recovery efforts.]

Maybe it will help in the long run, but it is unnecessary to keep people out like that.

Doesn't this scenario look very similar to the Berlin Wall!?!

Hmmm...

Immigrants are a driving force in the economy!

They take jobs that regular Americans won't do.

They just need to come in the right way!

If they don't become a citizen, we at least need some "partial immigration pass" for workers! At least we would have a way of regulating the situation.

The problem is the illegals! They are a drain on our economy in more ways then one! If they want to come over here and work, they need to pay some kind of tax! They are earning our money, but not paying taxes on it!

The problem lay in the legislation! We need to take care of this a different way. But they are not a disease! They are a vital part of our economy as well!

I normally support Bush, but he's going about it all wrong!

Make the laws more strict in the US. For now, to cause less problems, give the ones already residing in the US one year to start the process of getting a Visa/Green Card or citizenship. After that is done, take examples from Europe and make it impossible for an illegal immigrant to survive in the new country. If you hire an illegal, you lose your entire business in addition to huge fines, illegals can't go to school without having to pay extra fees, they cannot drive, and have no rights as citizens. No health care either. If you eliminate their ability to get a job in the US, go to school, and get health care, then they won't come over illegally anymore. In my PoliSci class last year people told me that was racist, but how? I don't care where they are from or what color they are, if they are illegal they deserve no perks or privileges and should be made miserable. If the US bought Mexico, assuming it had the funds, there would be people illegally immigrating into the former Mexico, and people saying the US should have bought an even worse off country like one of those in Africa.

Mexico will not like that. I suggest that we allow the immigrants here to stay via the Senate's original proposal, but also let them choose to be a permanent resident and still pay the $2000.00 penalty. Not make them learn English unless they want to become a citizen. Then fix the INS, make it so that more people can come in legally, and make income not a priority. Most of the illegal immigrants here in the US are too poor to meet immigration guidelines. They would never be allowed to come legally!

No way. Mexico is the world's leading producer of hoochitas. If we buy Mexico or Americanize it, their women will become just as vile, overweight (in their teens), and materialistic as ours are. Let the brown river of Belle Dames flow. We just need to make them leave their men behind, and get an abortion on entering. That's all.

This place is like The Twilight Zone, same stupid *** questions all the time, over and over and over.
Is it realistic that the United States would buy Mexico? Hell no, and it's a stupid *** idea.
Here is a solution. Deport all Illegals to their home countries. Period!!!!!!!

Why not? We seem to go back and rebuild in Iraq/Iran after we blow them up.
Honestly, i say DEPORATION!!!! Send ALL of them back that are here illegaly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Actually, it`s not all about Mexico!!! It`s all the countries.
FYI, the 3 illegals that i work with pay taxes from their checks. Come tax time, they file, they are getting 4-6,000 dollars back from state and federal. They are all single, but, they claim ALL their relatives in Mexico!!!!!!!!!!!! They claim HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD even tho the "family" doesnt live here and they damn sure DONT have social security numbers!!!!!!

Illegal immigration is wrong, and the Mexican government needs to improve their economy to provide a working wage for its ppl. If they did, the USA would not have such a illegal immigrant issue now.

Well, we already bought Texas ... and the illegals still keep claiming it's theirs .... hell, they don't know their history .... in any case, why don't we just invade Mexico and boot out their government? I mean, they're invading us .... we'll replace the government with a puppet regime who imposes harsh sentences on anyone found leaving the country illegally ....

Why not indeed? With all the yankee dollars going there anyway, we might as well benefit from it and tax it. But - unless the Mexicans here illegally want to be paid in pesos, they better learn to speak English.

Actually, I think the Mexicans would resent our "taking over" as much as we resent their doing it here.

My solution is this, if you want to come to the United States do it legally. We can hardly take care of our own problem's in the United States. We have more homeless Americans in the street then there are Mexicans on the street. I don't blame them for wanting to come to the United States but they need to think if they come here then they are not willing to help their country. Plus, we don't need another country to take care of, we have care of all the other countries. It's time for people to go back to their home country and fight for what needs to be done then waiting for America to do it for them.
