Abstinence is the best way to be while you are not married. There are too many risks, including STDs and pregnancy. And you can save that special occasion with a person you have made a lifetime commitment to, not just a one night stand. I wish I had waited.

Abstinence is a good thing if you're afraid of catching a disease. But if you can find a partner who also practices abstinence, then there's no need to worry about that. Sex is natural and you shouldn't have to be afraid.

There is nothing wrong with it at all but we shouldn't live our lives being scared of sex and what diseases we will catch if we have intercourse.You can always use a condom.In the end it is your choice though but be informed and make your choices in everything in life for the right reason.

abstinence is fine but sex is a wonderful thing. Just have your partner get tested and use at least 2 forms of birth controll. Make sure they're good forms of birth controll too.

On that note;
What do you call a couple that uses the rythm method?
Parents.

Well, i think there is no such thing as right or wrong in this. Its a metter of your personal preference. You may abstain if you feel like it. But if you only want to abstain due to the fear of diseases or such then there are a lot of ways to prevent those. You need not deny yourself the pleasure............. If fear stopped us from doing things then we would hardly be moving!!!! Cos walking may cause us to fall and break a bone, driving may cause an accident ... etc. etc. Getting my point??

I read the other answers.
all I can say is that abstinence is extremely difficult for most males.
it is possible to overcome the initial grumpiness from lack of sex, but further down the track there's lack of appetite and physical pain (spine, hips, sciatic) from constantly seeing desirable females.

No, there's nothing wrong at all with abstinence before marriage, in fact, it's the only way to make sure you won't have to live with any regrets once you are.

No, there is nothing wrong with abstinence at all. I would say that if you use a condom and practice safe sex you SHOULD be ok and safe from catching any terrible diseases.

Abstinence is fine if that's what suits you. Don't let anyone pressure you into doing something you don't want to. When you decide to engage in a physical relationship, just remember to be safe.

In my opinion, no. I choose to be abstinent because, like you said there are diseases out there, I mean would you rather have herpes down there or would you choose to be untroubled by such things? And partly because of my religion I choose to be abstinent.
