Yes, definately. My mom died in a car accident when I was seven. She wasn't wearing her seatbelt. The fact that it's a law has never changed my opinion on wearing the seat belt. It just takes a few seconds to put it on, and take it off when you get in and out of your car. You don't even feel it after a while. Something that doesn't take time and comfort out of your life and can save your life will obviously benefit you. Have a nice day! :)

I agree with others that wearing seat belt is good. Its a safety feature that nobody should overlook. However, I believe that most of the persons who have answered your questions are now in a habit of wearing seat belts owing to states law. They have not only become quite aware of their own safety but wearing seat belts has also become their second habit. But I know the people of those countries where laws of wearing seat belts are not enforced and you will find hardly anyone wearing belts on the roads. Before coming to States I used not to wear seat belts in my country despite knowing it was not good. But now if I do not wear it, I feel as if I am missing something. So I feel more comfortable and secure when I wear the seat belts. I would wear it now, even if I am emancipated to wear it.

Definitely, I was in a bad car accident a few years ago (totaled both cars) and the belt kept me in the seat, and in the car. Also, on vehicles equipped with airbags, if you rear-end someone or hit a stationary object and the airbag goes off, the forces of you going forward and the airbag coming at you can KILL you! All seat belts have a mechanism built into them that locks the belt, holding you back in the seat, allowing the airbag to cushion your sudden stop.

Yes, I've been saved MANY times by seat belts and NEVER trapped in the car. When was the last time you heard that a person died in an accident because they were WEARING their seat belt?!?!

Yes. I live in a large tourist area which means that we have a lot of drivers who are not familiar with their surroundings. There's not a day goes by during tourist season that one of them doesn't get involved in a wreck. Anything that gives me an edge (like a seat belt) with these people on the road, I'm going to use it.

I don't need a law to tell me to use common sense. That said, I buckle up anytime I'm in the car and wear a helmet anytime I ride a motorcycle. I know that so many people don't think it's "cool" (or whatever term they're using nowadays), but I never thought that being dead made you any more "cool", either.

Okay, I guess I had better make allowances for Kurt Cobain and Jerry Garcia on being dead and "cool"...

No, they make me feel so constricted. I can't move around even a little. I'm lucky I could breath when I have a seat belt on.

Yes. Bones in neck while using seat belt might have broken worse without seatbelt. ??
