how would the lungs of birds that live entirely in the country compare to city birds?

great question!

all mammals get cancer - and birds do too
but probably no one has looked at that really interesting comparative question

i could not find any reference on either a medline or vetline search!

Very interesting question. However, I doubt birds are as susceptible to cancer as humans are because the lifespan of a bird is much shorter and therefore probably not long enough for it to develop detectable cancers. It is possible, but the chances of finding a bird with cancer are probably few and far between.

Yes. Not only are they susceptible to cancer, we as humans can get lung cancer from our pet birds. Cancer is more common in the parakeet than in any other domestic animal. Cancer is more common in male parakeets than females.

yes. I work on a cattle station in outback australia. we have choocks and they get cancer from the dust from the cattle yards. only some dust carries cancer causing particles

IDK, but I know that we can get diseases _from_ birds, from the "dust" that comes off them.
