You can but the butter will burn quicker than other oils. It's better and safer to use a good vegetable oil for frying. If you're baking use a solid vegetable shortening to grease the bottom and sides of a cake pan, then add a couple of tablespoons of flour and shake to cover bottom and sides of pan.

Of course you could always use a cooking spray like Pam. They make one now for baking too.

Yes you can but if you are baking, I would recommend using vegetable shortening and then dusting with flour. Sometimes butter gets "absorbed" by the cake or whatever you are baking and then it REALLY sticks when you try to get it out of the pan. If you are going to use butter, use a ton! Just a little recommendation and hope it helps.

Yes you can & it won't burn because whatever you put in the pan keeps it from reaching higher temperatures then the food.

I use butter all the time for baking.

That depends on what you are cooking.
You can use butter, but canola oil or olive oil work better because they take alot longer to burn!!!! (butter will burn very fast!)

I prefer Pure cooking spray. Its made of olive or canola oils and is found at the grocery store! (cheap too)

hope this helps!
