As long at the marks go away after a while it's perfectly legal to get your a$$ wooped with almost anything. If he whoops you more than once a day without a reason then it may qualify for abuse which is illegal in any state.

It is not illegal. Is it the best way to punish - NO!
If you deserve to be hit with a belt, then maybe you should change what you are doing, or how you are acting.
If he is leaving marks, and bruises - call the cops.

Go to your school counselor and tell him/her what is happening. If he is doing it to your siblings as well, tell the counselor that, also. Let the counselor take it from there. He/she will be required to contact childrens services, and then they will investigate and determine if it is abuse. Also, anytime you, or one of you siblings, is punished in this way, tell your school counselor as soon as you can and show them the marks. You could also call the police when it happens ... go to a neighbors or something.
If social services determines that his behaviour is in appropriate, they may require him to get anger management, parenting classes, or counseling. If it gets serious, and is considered abusive, other steps may be taken.
The important thing is, report it to someone, then let them determine from there.

My dad always spanked me with a belt when I was was mean to my sister. I'm sure it's legal if he's actually punishing you for something you did. But if he's just a drunk bastard and belting you for no reason it's not legal.

It is illegal, he is using a weapon in the process, once an object is used to cause harm to a person it is considered a weapon. Also at your age their should be no spankings period. Tell him if he strikes you again or uses a belt you will call the police.

Depends what country you are in. I'm in the UK and l'm sure this is physical abuse. Children get smacked with hands, but belts are not acceptable as this is very violent. Please add some information about how old you are and what country you are in.

oh my god, i feel so awful for you reading this.
i really hope you tell someone what is happening, because i'm pretty sure that is illegal... and if it isn't then there is something very messed up with the legal system where you are living.
tell a trusted adult.. if you don't do it for yourself, do it for your siblings...

as long as he is just spanking you on the bottom and is doing it when you are doing something wrong or against his rules the yes it is legal and any judge in any state will tell you this.

Depends on how he is doing it... A few slaps is one thing. beating is another..You should contact someone and ask them if this is okay..
