Question about Ghosts..?

i have an interesting question..

I was talking about this in my bible study discussion...

You know how people say that there is ghosts, and you can connect with them?

Well, since all of the people in hell are "dead" Dust/ashes. NO thoughts/emotions....just Blah. Why would they be talking to us if their ash?

And for Good ghost's... People up in heaven wouldnt waste their time haunting. They have better things to do which is honoring God.

I believe that it's satan, and his demons.

What yall think?

First off, for some people...

People who dont know their dead? When you die, its ur choice, if you go to hell, your dead for life, in heaven, your resting.

I agree with you on this. It is Satan and his demons.

The reason is this, there was a witch in Endor that brought up the ghost of Samuel. In this instance, it really was the person that was being called for. Why would she then be troubled and know that she was being deceived by King Saul.

Add on top of this I would add a parable of Jesus about the rich man and Lazarus. The angel said that it would do no good to send Lazarus back to earth because the people would still do what they wanted and would not listen to him.

Plus God warned that talking to ghosts is not to be sought after. Seems like he knew the mess that would result. And people are being duped by those who say they can contact the dead. If God warns against it, shows that people would not listen, and a witch knew something was up, then there has to be something majorly wrong and most likely demonic about it.

yeah i believe what your saying is accurate.

but i also believe two other things -

good spirits, youre right, do not want to haunt people, but i think loved ones who have passed away sometimes come around when the living person is in need. when theyre having a horrible time, or if theyre feeling really low.

and also - i believe that some spirits, good and bad, are stuck in this world, and dont know how to get to the other side. so they roam this earth until they find the means to go the direction their supposed to follow.

First off, I fully believe that we humans today are not as in touch with our "natural instincts" as people back then were. Were have not had to hunt our dinners or walk five miles to the nearest watering hole. I just do not think we know exactly what we are capable of seeing or feeling because we are so desensitized by modern convenience.
I think it is very possible that spirits could roam this world and those times when we feel that "sixth sense" or get chill bumps for no reason....maybe it is more than just your mind playing a game on you.
I do not doubt anything about angles or spirits on earth...I just doubt our human ability to connect with them.

Since we really won't know for sure until we all die, it is up for debate. I think that ghosts are either demons or people who will go to hell, but are in a sort of waiting place. I mean, what would be worse than trying to tell people something and they can't see or hear or feel you? It is a real grey area isn't it?

MJ, right on!! That is so correct! It is the demons making you think that it is people....that's why the Bible (book of Deuteronomy) says not to consult spirit mediums (because its the domons). Im so relieved to know that I'm not the only one who believes that. So many people think that the day float around...NO, the Bible does not teach that. The dead are in the grave, non-existant like you said...even the ones who will go to heaven. You know the book of Revelation talks about judgement day. When Jesus returns he will RESURRECT THOSE OUT OF THE GRAVE...and judge them...the righteous to eternal life and the wicked to everlasting destruction. Also, the first to enter Heaven was Jesus himself, right? When He came to earth and died for our sins, it was to pave the way for us to have eternal life right? The Bible says that no one entered before Him...so where did all the people who died before Him go? All the prophets..Moses, Joseph...all of them? They stayed in the Grave, Judgement day will be resurrected to eternal life...however, there is more to that because the Bible talks about more than one group being resurrected....the Saints first (the first fruits)....But glad to see that other believe the Truth and not what man has taught!

Very good thinking. But Jesus was in his Spiritual Body after he returned from being Crucified. he walked through closed doors and windows. He ate Drank and Thomas Thrust his hand through the side of Jesus. Ghost and Spirit are translated from the same word.. The Bible says their is a gulf there no man crosses over. But possibly Spirits can. a thing to ponder.

You're basing everything off of a book full of stories that you take to be concrete fact! So, since ghosts are well documented I'm more apt to side with the ghosts being real, than religion being correct....
And one more thing- don't you think Satan would have more important things to do than bother regular people with apparitions?!

Was Satan impersonating the prophet Samuel when the witch of Endor brought him back from the dead for King Saul? Check your Bible Books of Samuel I and II. I don't remember exactly.

Well juss because people are dead their spirits aint....if people have a lot of unfinished business on earth when they died they have a hard time moving on also spirits like to guide the living or the ones they love....watch over them n stuff...and if it was satan and his demons then why dont they all try to harm us?
