You don't have to buy shoes that are specifically made for volleyball. Any good athletic shoes with good traction will work. I do not recommend running shoes. I have used running shoes in the past & they seemed to lose their traction much faster than other shoes. I usually look for a good pair of cross trainers. You don't always have to spend a lot of money. The last pair I bought, I found on sale & didn't pay more than $30 and they lasted me quite a long time.

Asics... all the way. They've always been in the volleyball shoe niche for a long time. From the "old" days when they had the original Asics Tiger to the models they have today. Excellent shoes with good lateral support.

I have owned ASICS, Adidas, Nike and Mizuno. Out of all of them, I LOVED my ASICS. They are the most comfortable, flexible, light and have awesome cushion in the ball of the sole (which is where you are most of the time when playing, right??). The lateral support is also wonderful, so when moving side to side, you don't roll your ankle or blow out the side of your shoe. And the company will stand by anything they manufacture. I once had a problem with a pair of my shoes, and they sent me a new pair! It was wonderful to actually work with a company that didn't doubt you.
Adidas was a close second, but I had to pay almost $100.00 to get ones that were as good as any of my ASICS.
Hope this helps!

There are some well-known shoe brands like Nike, Mizuno & Asics for your selection..
For me, Mizuno is the best because is designed specially for volleyball training.
Is comfortable & most important is safety...Choosing right shoes to avoid ankle sprain bcoz volleyball beed a lot of jumping.

My mom gets me one pair of tenni shoes a year and I use them for everything. I don't mind what shoes I wear during volleyball, just as long as they are comfotable and they don't fall off my feet.
