Homosexuality has become "accepted" in the USA, and as time goes on it becomes more and more accepted.

Question

Does that mean in 50 years pedophilia will become accepted in society as normal behavior? Where in the bible does it accept homosexuality as acceptable? Explain to me the acceptance of homosexuality and who in the bible was gay?

PS: I am not against or for homosexuality. My best friend is homosexual. He died homosexual and I know there was no way for him to be any other way. He was born that way. We started in kindergarten together and it was clear from the get go he was homosexual. I still loved him and always will. I just want to understand and be clarified because one of these days I am going to stand before God. I want to understand it

To answer the question, as an honest question, then: No.

All the indications are that pedophilia is becoming less tolerated and more law enforcement effort is being put into addressing the whole issue of child abuse. A good thing, but moving painfully slow.

There is a HUGE difference between homosexuality and pedophilia. What is it? Children are not old enough to make their own decisions. Hell, they aren't even mature enough to make their own sperm or eggs - they are not meant to have sex. Homosexuals CHOOSE to have sex with members of the same sex. It's two consenting adults. Homosexuals aren't hurting anyone, you asshat.

And if you weren't so close minded, you would remember that not every single person in the world believes the bible, and not everyone is a Christian. Not everyone is going to follow the bible. You don't even follow it completely, I'm sure.

Divorce is accepted in the USA. So is adultery. Why are these things accepted by mainstream religions which, in many of their writings, claims it is against? Why is homosexuality the only thing people think about when it comes to a sin they do not tolerate?

Homosexuality has become accepted in our nation because our nation is without God. I'm not saying that we should condemn the person, only that we condemn the sin. For those who say that there is nothing in the Bible speaking against homosexuality, I suggest you read the following verses: I Corinthians 6:9, I Timothy 1:10, I Thessalonians 4:3, and the story of Sodom and Gomorrah in Genesis the 19th chapter.

The only reference I know of (and there is still a lot I don't know) is in the Old Testament. In Sodom and Gomorrah. It mentions only that these people were homosexuals. The Bible doesn't condone it. Only mentions the facts. God loves all people. Even homosexauls. That doens't mean He agrees with or condones their behavior.. it only means he loves the sinner but not the sin.

Second: Pedophilia and Homosexuality are not the same thing. Adults who look at children as sex toys are mentally disturbed without a doubt, but most of the time they go after the opposite sex.

Homosexuality is a relationship between two consenting persons of age enough to know what they are doing. That is not the same thing as kiddie rape.

if acceptance of gay sex is in any way linked to the acceptance of pedophilic sex, it's only because they're both been things that, for a very long time, many people either said were wildly immoral or didn't talk about at all.

of course, that link means nothing except in the minds of religious fundamentalists, who think it proves something it most obviously does not.

but rational, unbiased people will see nothing wrong with consensual sex between adults, regardless of their sexes.

with pedophilia, the issues of child psychology and of children's rights inevitably comes up, as it's a different issue altogether.
