God isn't ALL anything - and God is not a person.
God is a metaphor for the universal energy that flows through and drives this existence. We are all, at our essence, part of that very same energy (children of God). We come here to learn something that we can only learn here on Earth and when we are done, we rejoin this energy (with the use of our own personal Death myths - i.e. Heaven).
Evil is a metaphor for the limits and pitfalls of the flesh. In this existence we are subject to a lot of negative emotion, much of it of our own creating. Fear, guilt, resentment all lead us to despair, self doubt, intolerance - it helps us make bad choices - it helps us create our own personal Hell. We are sometimes so consumed with this negativity that we cannot shake it upon death and we become lost - that is Hell. Nothing more.
The God as Person thing, in my opinion, comes from the idea that we can "appeal to this energy" or ask for help as a child would a parent. It's a father because it gives us exactly what we ask for (knowing from our thoughts and prayers) - mother would want us to really consider our words, and be sure that it was just what we wanted. Father says "you asked for it? you got it!"
Free will is so 100% on but people don't realize that it's on all the time - like being tape recorded. If God is sending what we are thinking about then we are 100% in control of our existence. There has been exhaustive research on the mind's ability to heal itself, affirmations, visualization, laughing yourself health, etc. Of course the prayers of the faithful and meditation is popular also.
So let's suppose for a second that is true - that our brains are our "link" home (to God). If that is true, then God is listening 24-7, not to what you say, but to what you think. Does it seem that when you worry about losing your job, that is exactly what happens? Our free will is working but we are using it incorrectly. When we want that promotion do we think - Yipee! I am gonna get that promotion! - or - Damn, I might not get that promotion!
The bottom line is nothing is all good or all evil - in fact I will go one further and say nothing is good or evil, it is all in the mind of the interpreter. A thief can be evil, but a mother stealing bread for her hungry child can hardly be considered evil. One who kills randomly is an evil murder, but one who puts a soul out of it's misery can be thought of as a hero.
Peace!

Isaiah 40 5 verse 7 says: I style the gentle, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all those issues. properly, i might say its like this, the non secular god's may well be seen evil, because of the fact they are frequently egocentric jealous god's that choose to make you worship them or face punishment of a few style. in spite of the indisputable fact that the ALL, isn't evil. and that i've got faith that this scripture in Isaiah 40 5 is a sturdy desription of the ALL in terms of this. Evil and strong, gentle darkness and so on, at the instant are not something yet creations, all of them come from God, God is neither solid nor EVIL, God purely IS, ALL issues and each thing. Its like taking an ocean and asserting that one drop of water is the completed ocean. No. in spite of the indisputable fact that the drop of water got here from the sea. it is an identical with god, Evil is yet a drop in the sea, which comes from god, yet god isn't Evil, an identical may well be pronounced approximately solid. those at the instant are not something yet recommendations, and peoples differing perspectives. because of the fact one mans god is yet another mans devil. What you notice as solid some one else might perceive as evil. it is all there is to it. God isn't evil, god isn't God, god trouble-free IS for this reason, even the bible says i'm that i'm.

How could good be known without evil? God's creation both human and angelic were given free will. Humans because of the fall have a sin nature. In other words you never have to teach a child to lie they just know how without any outside help. Angelic creation has no such excuses. When Satan claimed that he would exalt himself and become like the most high he was in total rebellion against God and this was his sin. God didn't make him evil he made him perfect but by his own will he became the father of liars.

God is all good. Everything He creates is good. Babies are born innocent, right? He didn't create us as adults with sin, but as babies without sin. He also gives us a choice...whether to do the right thing or not. He didn't create the Devil, did he? He created an angel named Lucifer who chose to go against God, because he had the power to choose to do that. Everyone has evil thoughts by choice, not because God makes us. I don't know if this makes sense or not, but I hope you understand what I'm trying to say.

Most if not all evil is caused by people choosing to pervert good or potential for good, the perversion which is offensive and displeasing to God. In contrast to mistaken concept of past philosophers that evil is merely lack of good, evil is the volitional perversion of good or potential good.
This question gets into question of theodicy which is how can all good God allow existence of evil. The answer searched for thousands of years is that without the existence of evil there would be no evil to strive to transcend, the latter striving making more good than the existent evil.
God is much more than a He or She or a He and/or She or Which or That. God Is Who God Is.

Hi, Bob-
Not much thought required here. WHO told you that God is "all good?" God never created evil. Free will created evil. And who are you to say that God couldn't create evil? God is omniscient. Check it out. God is all everthing. That incudes evil. We are not privy to the thoughts or ways of God, much as we'd like to think we are. Stop trying to figure it out (you can't) and start accepting scripture and the way things REALLY are. You're just a man, as am I, and we aren't privy to the ways or will of God.

I am going to assume that you believe in god and base my answer on that. god gave man free will. so it is safe to assume that evil comes from man.my thought is evil springs from simple greed. there are a lot of things that are looked upon as evil, like not fallowing the ten commandants. Here is a good one, thou shall not steal. but what if you are starving, or your family is dying from lack of food. our society will jail or fine a man for stealing a loaf of bread that he cant afford, making sure that he still cant feed his family and call him a criminal. While brad and the large lipped whore spend months in Africa just to be different(probably spending enough to feed said man an family for a year or three) so from my bad example above, tell me which is more evil, the thief who is stealing to feed his family or a man (who has millions) has an affair, leaves his wife for another, and has a child out of wedlock( i think they are not married, if they are scratch the last.) and who is greedy, who is evil. Don't think to much about it, keep your nose clean, help others when you can,(except TV Evangelist) and do genuine good, not the stuff that makes you look good.

I think that what we call evil is actually just the absence of God, or good or love. Just like you can create darkness by taking away the light, and create coldness by taking away the heat, you can create evil by taking away the love (or God, or whatever you choose to call it).

Free will is the one great gift that God gave to each of us, including the angels. When God created Lucifer ( aka satan)
He was the one that God himself, Blessed Him (satan) and
God kepted giving more and more power to Lucifer, Until one day
Lucifer, had assumed that he had truly become more poewerful than the creator. It was Lucifer's own freewill thinking that created evil. If you want the full explination as to these events,
May I suggest you go straight to the one who can answer it best!
God himself!

You have answered your own question -- There is no God!!
There are good men and evil men, and only man is capable of being either one or the other.
That is just the nature of the human species.
