I would recommend you go throught your state's adoption registry. He may have registered when you were born. I would also ask your adopted parents if they know any information about him and go from there.

First of all, ask your mum..and she starts getting upset about it, that means that he wanted no part of it either because he was married, it was a one night stand, or she doesn't know. Now, you could ask her to make a list of all the men she slept with during that time and see what comes up. Yes, it may kinda unconsiderate or impoite, but that's your right to know. I know how you feel, I'm 36 and only knew the name of my father? that wa on the Birh Certificate. I went to ussearch.com and found my father, coming to find out that he lived in the same city and state were I was growing up, he lived 2 miles from my home, and I went to school with his kids (talk about your Brady Bunch). I 'm sure you will find it there. But keep your head up to the sky.

Do you have any info about him at all? Name (first or last), location? Old places of work, school college?

This will help, try just doing a basic search in google for free people finder. This brings up loads of sites, most though will help you for free for a trial period usually 30 days and will then want money for any search results.

It's so hard to do that. I was adopted and my mum didn't tell me who my birth parents were until I was 14. I had no idea I was adobted. I moved in with my birth parents then.
