bible thumpers should stay in their pigeon hole and quit bothering people that are not wearing blinders, and how dare they claim to know what God thinks

The same question could be directed at people who quote anyone or anything, or people who say any popular phrase, like "oh snap".
I do not believe they are bereft of original thought, but just the natural laziness in people to take the easy route rather than thinking and saying something that might be slightly different, but pin point more exactly what they were trying to say to begin with.

Sometimes I wonder. I still have hope that they can think... or at least answer a religious question without doing a search in the Bible and throwing verses at people. Just makes them look more like the robots they claim they aren't.

"6 ¶ Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and *the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will *abundantly pardon.
8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD."(Isa 55:6-8)

If they're using it to make a point along side their own words, then they may be capable. But, if that's all they ever have to say, their mind and brain has gone to god.

sometimes YES
if that's all they do when asked a question then i believe they have been by others or even themselves brainwashed and hav no opinions of their own to share. i think the zealot and fanatic Mainworry proves my point.

They want to answer, but God choose not to give them a brain that can think, so they cut and paste

God's Word is original thought.
Man's words are fallible.
