If you truly want to be an actress, check with your school or local drama theaters in your town or take some classes. A person with enough determination can do just about anything. You mentioned God in your posting, so I will also suggest talk to people at your church, maybe they have some good ideas also. Life is not boring, life is what YOU make of it. Enjoy it!!

I think that parents do know best - most of the time.
If your mother had perceived that the stage was the right place for you, I guess she would help and encourage you to follow your career.
This doesn't mean that you have to give up and do what she tells you to do.
Anyone can be whatever they want to be, as long as they have the will and determination. Of course, only the most talented ones will really get there, that is, succeed.
Ask yourself if you have the necessary inborn skills to be an actress. Have you ever been on the stage? Had a role in a play? What was it like? If you never had the opportunity, try to imagine what it would feel like.
Ask your best friends if they can conceive you as an actress.
Whatever your decision is, my advice is:
1. try to adopt a healthy lifestyle (healthy foods, plenty of sleep, moderate exercise, minimal emotional stress);
2. read good books (the classic books and authors) and educate yourself as best as you can.
Both will be of great value if you decide to become an actress or otherwise.
You are young, and I figure that today what you need most is to get yourself prepared for life rather than decide on your ultimate career.

No everyone has a reason to be here... I think yours is caring for others and helping, by making people smile and have a better life by volunteering, a food bank or local childcare center or medical center or hospital maybe a senior center or school babysitting helping victims of cancer just volunteer or help people in some way! Just by doing that you really can help change the world which is what God loves to see us do! What he wants from us! Maybe even go to church if you do not already this really will make you feel special that you did something no actress could or actor could do you HELPED CHANGE THE WORLD that is what really matters! SO go help TODAY! that is what these links are for!

first, you should ask yourself the real reason to your unhappiness. are unhappy b/c your parents won't let you pursue acting or are you unhappy for another reason, something deeper than your pursuit of a career?
after answering that first question, and you find that God is calling you to be an actor and that you would be much happier becoming one, you should talk with struggling actors.
i live in hollywood, and i'm an actor. it's a VERY tough business and I can honestly say so b/c i've tried all kinds of jobs before i decided to pursue acting. i've worked as a waitress, event planner, floral designer, administrative assistant to a photographer and university professor, project manager in a construction company, marketing associate for a real estate company and energy company, reporter/journalist on tv, teacher and translator.
I pretty much tried everything BUT acting, and found that i really love this craft and i had this innate ability to empathize (which every actor needs).
But b/c this is show BUSINESS and not show FUN, a lot of times you don't really even get to act and do what you love. Most of the time, you're dealing with marketing of yourself and the business side of things. That means doing your taxes and expenses, creating your image, marketing of it properly, public relations, schmoozing and knowing the right people, etc. Before you make your big bucks, you will spend a great deal of your own money, b/c essentially, you're your OWN business. You own yourself. You own this business, so you have to run it like a private business.
Anyhow, if you are sincerely interested in this hard road ahead (this won't make your life happier initially I promise you, but you may feel fulfilled later on in life), you should talk to some struggling actors in hollywood or nyc and ask for their opinion and advice.
Good luck with everything and just remember: you can only be as unhappy as you let yourself be. every day you wake up and you make a decision "do i want to be happy and productive or do i want to be depressed and wallow in my own misery?"
no one has more control over your happiness than yourself.
Hope this helped!

Don't give up the acting dream! As for getting out of the boring funk, been there too... Try something new, spend time with friends, throw a barbecue for your friends just because you feel like it. Stick close to the friends that are positive people...i.e. "the glass is 1/2 full" kinda people. These kind of friends will thus up your confidence level and who knows, that extra confidence could get you the starring role in some Hollywood movie!

This is a really difficult question to answer in just a few sentences. You need to decide exactly what it is that you are talented at and enjoy doing. Put your goals into action. Write down what you want to do. What you speak is what you get. So if you say you can't, your brain will take it literally. Read books, get as much info you can on the things you want to do. I'm confident that since you are realizing you have a purpose, you will eventually find yours. ( for example: I'm a artist/ translator/ business owner because I worked hard at learning Japanese, studied art like crazy, and used my ambition to get my internet business going)

Hi Candie. Why can't you be an actress? Who told you that you can't? If it was someone who knows what they are talking about and they tell you that your acting is lousy and don't give up your day job then maybe, just maybe, it is NOT for you. Re-adjust your sights and away you go. The secret to a happy life is to know your limitations, if something is not for you then, so be it - don't beat yourself up about it. You WILL find your niche - and don't be suprised if it is staring you right in the face! Good luck

Firstly, don't just initiate conversations with your parents for the sake of gaining consent... Get yourself out there, do background research on ur local acting colleges, there entry requirements and such, then work out what it would take for u to become an actress -- Can u handle it??? If you can pursue it -- But as it is you sound like you have rejection issues -- acting is all about rejection and correction work on that first...

Why do you figure "G-d" put you in the planet? I'm sure your parents had nothing to with it right? Chances are you'll never be an actress so find something else you like and stick with it.

Talk to a mental health professional.
Seriously.
No joke.
You may have depression, which can be LIFE THREATENING.
Turn off the computer, go for a walk, clear your head, and find someone to talk to.
Now.
