The best is fried okra. You cut the okra into bite sizes and coat in cornmeal that has been salt and peppered. Fry in hot oil and let each piece get browned almost to the burned stage. So many people don't cook their okra long enough. You want it crispy. I also like boiled okra...yes, it's slimmy but I like the taste of okra and you can also mix boiled okra with stewed tomatoes....hope this helps.

I would bread it with a cornmeal coating and deep fry it. Such as in this recipe
1 pound okra pods, stem ends cut off, sliced 1/4-inch thick
salt
cold water
yellow cornmeal
salt and pepper
PREPARATION:
Put sliced okra in a bowl, sprinkle generously with sal; cover with very cold water. Refrigerate the okra for at least 1 hour. Drain; roll okra slices in cornmeal seasoned with salt and pepper until well-coated. Fry in a deep skillet in about 1/2-inch of hot oil until browned and crisp. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
2 to 4 servings.

I love it fried, but to make it a bit healthier, I coat it with flour and/or cornmeal and then spray a cookie sheet and bake it in a single layer in the oven. Just as good, not as greasy.

Ohhh, I love it breaded and deep fried with a little garlic powder and salt. Yummy. If in a hurry, they sell it in the grocer's freezer already breaded.
