A gay man lays dying of thirst in the desert. You arrive on the scene with a full canteen. You tell him that you'll give him some water but only if he changes his evil ways and accept Jesus as his savior.

He tells you that he will change his ways and accept Jesus if you give him water. But you are much smarter than him and you know that he's probably lying.

Do you give him the water or do you leave the sodomite out in the desert to wither away?

You're kidding right?I don't even wanna get into the "sodomite" thing... You think Jesus would have left *anyone* to slowly die ?
And before you say "it says in the Bible", it says a lot of things in the bible. The Bible was written by people. You know--faulted, calculating little beings, doing a fair job of trashing each other , and the known world....yeah, them. Some of it is probably fairly accurate testimony, and some of it...well. It also says in the Bible (Leviticus) that we are allowed to own slaves, as long as they're not from neighbouring countries, that we should refrain from wearing two kinds of thread at the same time (?), and that touching the skin of a dead pig makes one "unclean". Ever played football?
But even so, I don't think it says anywhere in the Bible that Jesus
said "If you come across someone you think is a sinner, leave the bastard to die." I mean really. Open your mind. And your heart, for that matter.God help us.

First off, I don't appreciate your question.

I would give him water and I would not ask him to accept Jesus. What says that he doesn't already accept Jesus. No I am not gay myself if that is what you were thinking, however I know many people who are. In fact, I know many Christians who are. The judgment call of whether or not they are going to heaven or hell is not yours, but God's and God's alone. I understand what the bible says. I know the verses. But I also know the verses that say to love your neighbor. Guess what? neighbor to you is that gay man in the desert that you may leave to die. Then his death is on your shoulders. I also know the verses that tell us we should not judge our neighbors, just like we cannot judge ourselves, because no matter how hard we try we will never understand the grace of God because it is unfathomable in the human mind.

Remember that God loves everyone and the only being that knows whether or not that Gay man is going to heaven or hell when he dies if the Almighty and you have no right to judge.

Being a Christian means being a follower of Christ, and Christ would give him water. Not only that, but he would help him out of the desert and give him as much water as he needed.

The best way to lead someone to Christ is to SHOW his love. Jesus would spend time with prostitutes teaching. Love everyone and help everyone you can. Judging is not our job.

Give him the water. No second thoughts.

If he was only doing it for the water he wouldn't really be saved and it would be accepted by God anyway. And if he's dying of thirst, why does it matter if he's gay? Why can't he just be a regualr person who hasn't accepted Jesus? And if it really was someone who followed Jesus they would offer him the water first and not give it conditionally. Sheesh, you know nothing about Christianity, do ya?

Since I actually value human life, I would give the water to the man before I even bothered to think about who he was and what his actions were.

And I personally have nothing against gay people any more than I have a thing against black people. You are who you are.

I'm not sorry to be truthful and if this offends you perhapps your priorities are not in line, but if you consider yourself a Christian and your answer is no: there is something wrong. Jesus' love is for everyone no matter what. *He* still loves that gay man and *He* would give him water.

You give the man some water to drink, PERIOD. Regardless of what the outcome will bring, you shoud do what it would take to get him healthy. You should also take him to the nearest town, set him up in a hospital for treatment, and pay his bills for him. Visit him and see how he is doing as time goes by

I would give him water even if he doesn't change his ways, true love is not "if you do this then I'll do that". Being a Christian is to be Christ like and to show love no matter what. Christ loves everyone, even the sinner. He died for everyone!

You give him water. Which you should have done in the first place without attaching any conditions to it.

When will everybody wake up to the problem here?

The church has one of the easiest mission statements "Love thy fellow man"; it doesn't matter what your fellow man's religion, colour or sexual orientation is; it is not of your concern, it is between him and HIS God. You just do it, "we are all God's children"; give him the water.

first of all, if you are truly a christian you would never pose the question in the first place, you would offer him the water and help him on his journey so that you could witness to him about the miracle of Christ and try to show him the beauty of God and how to become saved.
