Ok, the asker of this linked-question saw an answer to another question stating that "funerals are not a place to protest homosexuality"

Then the asker of this linked-question made a statement-question: "what IS the right place or time to protest homosexuality?" In the language of Sarcasm, that means: people get real, there is NO place, nor time to protest homosexuality". Anybody with an IQ above 37 could have figured that one out!!

yet, reading the first 18 answers, i see 16 people who missed the sarcasm. they all blame the asker of being prejudice against homosexuality.

If people don't understand the question, why bother to answer with all sorts of wrong prejudism???

It's always a mistake to assume that people are going to click on a link. It would have been more effective to first include the original statement in the question.

Also, you run into such a broad range of worldviews here that it's sometimes hard to tell who's joking and who's not.

And yeah, there ARE a lot of clueless people around.

Yeah, everybody's wrong and I'm right. Even though the so-called sarcasm was no where in the question, those people with IQs below 37 could't find it.

Obviously it needed explaining. I think most people who post just read part of the question, pick out the words they don't like and reply to that. Most of the answers I read I wonder what they're smoking and hope I don't end up with it. It's making them slow.

Some recognize sarcasm and are appropriately glib with their answers, others don't and give you the very serious answer and then the rest just have their own agenda and will spout that no matter if they get the intended sarcasm or not.

I tried doing a parody of another question, and no one got it either, depsite the fact that my question was asked pretty quickly after the other one.

I think it's because people react solely to the question and move straight to their opinion. They don't bother with any details.

I'm surprised you've been able to get people to read yours.

When is the right time and place to protest homosexuality?

For straight people, when a gay man is about to rape you.

Until such time, silence is golden.

Peace
