I'd say get saved just incase, I mean if you are wrong, and the Bible is true and Hell is real, and you're not saved and you die, you're screwed, don't take chances.

I don't believe there is a hell. I don't believe in the bible to start with. You do know you will go to hell if you don't give a rich precher your money. What will he do without that money. He will not be able to go to all the NFL games because of no money for tickets and plane fair.

Do you really think you need to go to a church or give money and work for free for the church or you will go to hell? If there really is an all knowing god he will know if you are a good person or not anyway. Put your money into something for your retirment that will be passed on to your kids not in some scam artest's pocket.

Get real

Based on most descriptions, heaven sounds more like hell than anything else. I have no desire to be in Pat Robertson's company for five minutes, much less an eternity.

And, the idea of spending an eternity with bible thumpers that follow people like Pat Robertson is enough for me to become a Satan worshiper if I actually believed the bible to be true.

Since my religious beliefs do not contain a hell I'll not end up there anyways so I feel no need to go back to christianity just so I can have the threat of hell in my life.

How you ever hear about St Thomas of Aquino and Dante Alighieri and his book The Divine Comedy. Hell does not exist is a creation of these two individuals, so you don't forget to pay your 10%, and live in fear with permission of the Superiors. Can you wake up?

in case you didn't realize, throughout history, there have been many, many, many different religions. it's not a simple matter of christianity versus atheism. if you choose christianity, but it ends up not being the "true" religion, you may end up in some sort of hell-like place along with the atheists you feel so superior to.

and i think the point is that atheists can't force themselves to believe in god--and because they're atheists, they don't even want or feel the need to lie to themselves like that. the threats of hell you feel are so frightening mean nothing to them.

I don't see how one can claim to follow a Just and Merciful God who just pitches people into Hell simply because they don't believe. Seems it would be a tad more complicated than that... with all the stuff given in the Bible.

Do you think that a religion whose most important tool of recruitment is "you are going to hell if you do not follow us", can be for real and represent a loving God?. I don't!, stop living with fear. Love others and do to them what you would like them to do to you. There may be a really good reason why we can't see God, so get over it and don't even think about it.

I'd rather not try to force myself to believe something that I simply don't. It's as simple as that. If I go to hell, so be it. At least I didn't spend my mortal life trying to believe something and be something that i'm not.

Most "Christians" in America are heretics who believe lies. That's why they don't seem credible.

40,000 groups calling themselves Christian, but there is only ONE Bible.

Some group, at some point in the past, shouldn't have formed and broken away from the REAL Christian group they were a part of.

If 'heaven' contains that evil, vengeful god of the Old Testament, I think I'll gladly take my chances in the non-Christian hell.
