can you please tell me what grams mean

1 kilogram contains 1000 grams.
1 pound is equal to .45 kilograms
So 1 pound is 450 grams
16 ounces = 450 grams
1 ounce = 28 grams

well, I guess you mean things like kilogram, pound, ounce, poundal, slug, ton,...
This is the amount of food. :-)
