Condoms are of the devil. Birth Control is the Satan pill. ANd when you take communion, you are actually eating Jesus and drinking his blood. I guess that makes them vampires.

Pope is God on Earth and cannot make a mistake in church matters. Pope can change God's laws if he so chooses as he did with the Sabbath day, changing it from Saturday, the seventh day of the commandment to Sunday the first day of the week, the venerable day of the sun. The priest takes the place of Jesus, so you go to them to confess any sin to be forgiven by them. If you have something that the bible says that tradition says something different, you take the tradition over the bible. In the mass, the host and wine, fermented stuff, become the real body and blood of Jesus, thus sacrificing Jesus anew at every mass, killing him again each time as the sacrifice, thus the sacrifice of the mass. That would be some of the basics. I was in it for many years and finally got out when things just did not add up that I was taught from a child and then all of a sudden there were many changes that were once wrong but now it was ok. Just did not make sense. If you want to know the truth of the bible, go to the site below and do the studies it has there. Then make up your mind what you want to do.

Catholics believe that the Pope in infallible in matters of faith and morals. Infallible means he cannot make a mistake in these matters. Therefore the Bible is defined by what the Popes have decided that scripture means.
Catholics believe that Mary was assumed into heaven and is the Queen of Heaven.
Catholics pray to Mary in the prayer called the Rosary.
Catholics believe that forgiveness comes by going to a priest to tell your confession of sins on a regular basis.
Catholics believe in the "real presence" that is they believe that the body and blood of Christ is really present in the bread and wine served during Holy Communion.[one of the seven Sacraments of the Church]

Thou shalt create more catholics and give a large portion of your income to the church. Priests must avoid normal healthy relationships with women as this will have no ill effects. Women must never aspire to be more than second class members of the organization. There are more but these are the important ones.

Mary is the mother of Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man, thus she is called theotokos (God-Bearer) and "mother of God." Catholics, like Protestants, believe that Mary was a virgin when she gave birth to Jesus. However, Catholics and Orthodox believe that Mary remained a Virgin her entire life. Mary was conceived without original sin in order to be a sinless bearer of God incarnate: Jesus Christ. This is known as the immaculate conception. This sinlessness was accomplished only because of the merits of Jesus Christ. At the end of her life, Mary was assumed into heaven, like the great saint Elijah. Mary is the Mother of us and the mother of the Church, and just as Christ is the new Adam, Mary is the new Eve, who obeyed God where Eve disobeyed.
The Bible does not state that Mary was sinless. She was not God. She was not to be worshipped or prayed to. The catholic Church have made Mary an idol and according to the bible
You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; 5 you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me.. Exod 20:4
She was human not angel or any other being. That is what they teach that is completely incorrect.

Very similar to most protestant religions. Lutheran is about the closest to Catholicism. Most protestant religions focus mostly on the preacher's sermon. In the Catholic Church, the preist's homliy is usually no longer than about 10-15 minutes. The Eucharist is held at every mass. Send me an email if you have anymore questions.

A summary of Catholic beliefs is contained in the Nicene Creed (from the year 325):
We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, one in being with the Father. Through Him all things were made. For us and our salvation He came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit, He was born of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate; He suffered, died, and was buried. On the third day He rose again in fulfillment of the scriptures: He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son, He is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.
For a complete description of what Catholics believe, see the Catechism of the Catholic Church: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/index.htm
With love in Christ.

The basic beliefs are: You are a sinner.
Priests are Gods.
Mary didn't arouse her husband and re-
mained a virgin.
You MIGHT be a sinner if you still eat
meat on Friday.
God will spank you if you don't give
to the church.
Jesus was supposed to die for our
sins
so we should thank the Romans and
Jews who arranged for his death.
Don't leave your wife and children
alone in a room with a Priest unless
you know him well.
You were born bad, and you are still
bad.

The Catholic church offers courses in catechism. Perhaps you should take the time to learn the basic precepts of the faith. It really isn't that difficult.

That the pope is the chief God and he has many assistants, also Gods.
Not to be disagreeable, but the pope can overrule anything anyone else said or wrote before he became God.
