It depends on the types of foods you are getting from the pantries. I always found that the best way to cook with food that you have available is to just be creative and think about it from what you like. I remember when I was a teenager after my mom and dad got divorced my dad was really poor and eating a lot of food pantry stuff. When I visited him I cooked for the family and I would just be creative with what I had. If I had mac and cheese, a can of tuna, cream of asparagus soup (or mushroom, etc) and peas, I would cook the mac and cheese, mix it with the soup, peas, tuna, etc and voila, tuna noodle cassarole!!!

I would need to know the ingredients to give you recipe ideas. :-)

Feel free to contact me through my profile and I'm sure I can give you some creative food ideas! :-)

I love stuff like that. I actually started writing a cookbook once but haven't finished it yet.

ps-The cassarole doesn't only need to be with tuna and mac and cheese, you could make it with canned ham, or salmon, or chicken, etc.

When I was a kid my mom used to feed me SPAM, Ramen, and lettuce. I LOVED it!! I still eat it now when I have PMS really bad. lol

I would say wheat pasta, it is really good and healthy! Just cook the pasta after wards blend some garlic and olive oil together for your dressing and then put Parmesan cheese on top... it is so good.... good luck!
