Hmm, find one that isn't man made, but made from God Himself.

After Christ ascended into Heaven in the year AD 33, no one had Bibles, becuase the events described in the New Testament section of the Bible were occuring at that time.

It wasn't until the year AD 397 that the stuff in the Bible was put together under one book. Between AD 33 and AD 397 Christians had no Bibles to learn from. All the different books and letters in the Bible were scattered through out the Middle East and Europe. And if that wasn't enough, false books and letters were being written too.

These false books and letters describe events that didn't happen and were kept out of the list of books and letters that were put in the Bible.

So, how did these Christians learn about their religion? They passed it on thru word of mouth as they wrote it down. False stuff was written down, but those who had learned from word of mouth knew these false things were not Christian teaching.

The Christians of today are divided because they interpret the Bible differently. But what most don't bother to do is read the interpretations of the Early Church Fathers. The Early Church Fathers were Christians who had learned Christianity from Christians who were taught by other Christians who had known the Apostles of Jesus Christ Himself.

That's a brief history. If you have any more questions you can send me an Email.

You already DO have a spiritual side! Your hunger for things spiritual proves it. (God made man in His image and likeness. God is Spirit, so therefore you are spiritual.)

My advice is to EXPLORE!! and find out which one speaks to your heart. That's what I did. I was raised Protestant but fell away from the church due to bad ministers (sexually agressive, hypocritical, etc.). In my late 20's I had some psychic experiences that I was certain the church would be of no help with. I went from there to Wicca ("white" witchcraft) and from there to non-mainstream Christianity. I needed a faith that would allow me to think for myself and to discern the truth on my own, with God's help. I wasn't interested in dogmatic approaches to faith.

Anyway, enough about me.

Explore the world religions. You'll find that the Eastern religions are very non-judgemental, even if they have certain practices or beliefs that they hold to be absolute.

Beware of the fundamentalist Christians. They tend to be dogmatic and expect people to blindly follow their brand of beliefs, even if they can't follow their rules themselves.

Christianity has a lot to offer, but the truth needs to be ferretted out. The Bible IS contaminated by necessity with human thought. And soooo many contradictions. Spiritual discernment is helpful. I love the view Christian Science has to offer. It offers spiritual growth, unconditional love and healing for everything from physical challenges to relationships to money matters. It has been very helpful to me and very supportive of my spiritual growth. And I'm still growing and learning.

Enjoy your explorations.

follow the basic 10 commandments and the golden rule. Study religion with an open mind. people have been twisting all written religious records for so long, the many truths of each isn't anywhere close to where they started.

Picking the right religion is very important. You have to go with the one that makes the most sense to you. It should be in complete harmony with your conscience if your conscience is clear. Search all the religions and see which one is more realistic. I decided Shia Islam b/c of its prophesies in the Bible, Torah, Hindu religion and other places. I just recall one from the Bible ~ genesis And from the seed of Ishmael I will create a great nation and from him I will give 12 righteous descendants. Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was the only prophet to claim to be from prophet Ishmael and he had 12 righteous descendants. In the Hindu scriptures of Sanskrit it is a prophet by the name of Muhammad will appear from the Paran Peninsula (Arabia). There are hundreds of other prophesies for example according to the banned Bible according to St. Barnabas, Prophet Muhammad (SAW) will come after prophet Jesus. Even in the current Bible it says Prophet Muhammad (SAW) as 'paraclytis' but of course you can not see it except in the original Bible in prophet Jesus' original language, Aramaic. So from logic, I just chose this but every one has their own journey they must go through.

I would study the bible and then choose the church that goes with the bible and the bible only. Or there is the alternitive. You can join the ignorant crowd that says there is no God. If you want the former to get smart about what is in the bible, check out the site below and do the studies. You will learn the truth here.

I applaud your decision to give serious thought to such a life altering decision! Most people no longer search for God because they either do not believe he exists or are unsure about it. But the Bible tells us, "Happy are those conscious of their spiritual need."—Matthew 5:3. The apostle John revealed how important it is for you to do this, writing: “The world is passing away and so is its desire, but he that does the will of God remains forever.”—1 John 2:17.

If you are searching for the true God, feel free to contact Jehovah’s Witnesses. Without cost they will be happy to help you to know intimately the Father and his will while there is yet time.—Zephaniah 2:3.

I wish you the best in your search for God.
