Right now I am getting a lot of “you need to get good bacterial and lots of fiber into your system” from my doctors, but the pamphlets they are giving me really do not cover the foods very well. They give out a few examples, but there has to be more out there than yogurt and wheat. What are foods that you can think of with these things in them and please connect them to what they contain, like yogurt has good bacteria in it and wheat has the good fiber in it.

Thx for any help you can give.

one of the oldest tried and true answers to that question is "an apple a day keeps the doctor away." Apples or pears have always been good food for addressing that type of issue. other things that are helpful for gastric problems are MInt teas, ginger, cammomille. Really just about any type of tea. Ginger root, cooking with it and spices like turmeric, ( one of ingredients of curry) and other root vegetable herbs like onions, garlic, etc, are helpful. You may want to consult herbal or holistic medicine type of references. They can provide good information about foods, nutrition and so on that medical sources often do not. You should if you do pursue that route, get additional advice about possible side effects from more non-traditional herb uses such as ayuervedic or tcm (Traditional Chinese Medicine) sources.

Hope this helps

Raisin Nut Bran cereal has A LOT of fiber in it and it's really good too, so there's one idea for you. I think fruit gives you necessary fiber as well.
