Why not switch to the greek gods like Aphrodite I mean you can't proove they don't exist as the god squad talk about bout their being... and a lot more fun if films like Clash of the Titans and Zena and Hercules gods.

Plus a love god would be much more fun

Sure beats Jesus or Allah/Mohummed

Plus would not lots of gods make more sense? male and female ones.

Or Native American Spirits.

Likewise why don't people carry a sword to hold in you hand if you die just in case its tru about valhalla or coins for the Roman god ferryman etc...

Well first Allah is another name for God, Jesus, and Mohamed were not Gods, The native American Spirits serve man kind all the time, no serve is not the right word, work together with man to try and better ourselves, even though we don't deserve any help for the mess we are in. And there is only one God, he is the God of Love, Hope, care, the earth, the sky, the God of Fun and yes he will sit by and watch us kill ourselves again why should he stop us, we have brought the suffering upon us, we need more Love to give and share to each and everyone, no matter the colour of the skin, or the belief that person has.
Love & Peace

There is nothing to stop worship of Classical gods and goddesses. There exists a cult in Greece and some people in the UK who claim to be Maenads (Dionysus worshippers). They were one of several groups who campaigned for the return of the Elgin marbles to theier proper place on the Temple Of Athena Parthenos (the Parthenon in other words, with Parthenos being Greek for celibate or virgin).
There exists several practical issues though. FIrstly there are literally thousands of deities in the Greek/Roman religious system. Also, few details actually exist as to the rituals and ceremonies that were preformed for each god. Some gods like Aphrodite were only worshipped by women, and their rites were secret. Few pieces of religious equipement have also survived, and few temples would be in a satisfactory state to hold ceremonies. There would also be the issue as to which gods/goddesses were to be worshipped in each town/city.
The Roman ferryman god was called Charon, and his fee was two obols, an obol being a 1/6th of a drachma, according to the Greeks, or one denarius, according to the Romans.
The Bible's Commandments say though that you should not worship false gods, as in the Golden calf statue made by Mose's followers following their escape from slavery in Egypt. It was at this point, in the Book Of Exodus, that Moses received the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai, one of the commandments being the one above.

Someone once described to me a theory that makes so much more sense than any other religeous belief I've encountered.

Its along the new age and pagan lines.

Basically if you compare these gods, goddesses and so on, you'll find that many gods / goddesses of different religions compare very closely to another in that they have the same attributes or qualities.
At the the end of the day I believe that these deity's are one and the same and what we truely connect to are energies.

Science is getting closer to the truth every day as these energies manifest themselves in many places but particularly in crystals for example quartz.

Its up to you how you want to connect to these, you can picture a god or goddess, you can use names such as diana, aphrodite or hecate. Or call these energies direct, they will be drawn to you however you focus your wiil to them.
Whichever you feel most comfortable with.

You don't necessarily have to worship or ritual for them some people do like it that way as that is what feels right to them.

As to the rituals like the coins for the ferry man follow your intuition and gut instinct. If it doesn't feel right to walk under a ladder don't.

I think I would vote for Harmonia. The idea of harmony is always a good one. Ares being the god of war and Aphrodite being the goddess of wisdom, the idea of harmony really sticks out for those two to get together!

Good news! There are people who still worship Aphrodite and the Greek Gods. They are called Pagans. Depending on which sect or coven you belong there's a possibility of worshiping any number of pantheons. Amazing!

follow your own heart and do what you feel is right. God is everywhere and knows when you're in need. God is capable of things way beyond our wildest imagination. we as humans have interpreted God in many ways over time and cultures in an attempt to show and explain his greatness. God created no two men alike, so beliefs naturally tend to differ but all are still based on the same principals.

they are myths, not real, you can certainly read the stories. The Almighty is the true God of all. There is some really great reading. www.biblegateway.com , read about David and Goliath in the book of 1 Samuel, the book of Daniel has a lot of great adventures, Esther is great, Genesis 37-50 is about Joseph, Im sure you will enjoy.

The Romans and Greeks believed in many similar Gods, from the god of war to the god of love. But of course theses religions died out and other religions such as Christianity evolved. Now days it seems you can believe in what you want due to our expanding human rights.

Christianity is long past its sell by date, It is time to find our own answers to our own problems, not to keep on about some book written 2000 years ago.

I would be happy if the Roman / Greek / Norse gods made a comeback - at least they wouold be interesting to read about!

A humorless query as the divine feminine appears to be the original. The switch is to some “Johnny come lately” guy plagiarized from the story of Mithra.
