well i dont know how getting your ears pierced and having sex have anything to do with each other. but anyways, i got my daughters ears pierced when she was 7 months old, she cried a little and then she was fine. she looks adorable in them and nobody confuses her for a boy. if you wait until they are older i would wait until they ask to get them pierced rather than to force a 3 year old to do it. they will fight it more.

I know a lot of kids who had there's done at a week. I feel the younger the better. The child will get older and not realize they have them. I waited until my 11 year old was about five to get hers and she hasn't kept a pair of earrings since. My 1 year old has yet to lose her earrings and her ears have been pierced since she was 6 months. If they don't want them as an adult they can always take them out.

I got mine pierced when I was 5 or 6. I don't remember it. Which turned out pretty well because my mom took care of my ears so they didn't get infected and I don't remember any pain. I have these piercings today. I then tried piercing my ears for a second time when I was 12. My ears are sensitive and easily got infected and sealed especially because they were still infected when basketball started and I had to take them out. Then I got them repierced when I was 13. I quit basketball so that wasn't a big deal and they stayed fine and I still have them pierced today. Then I tried to pierce them for a third time while I was still 13 and that got infected and sealed too. I am fifteen now and I suggest you do it while your kids are younger and not involved in sports.

I don't think she should be "litle". There's nothing worse than seeing a baby with their ears pierced.
Yes, sure, it looks cute, but at what price? Whilst they're young, we have so many things to take care off, remebering their ears is the last of our worries.
When the child is old enough to take PROPER care of their piercings, is the right age. I would say that nine years of age is about right. Up until this age, needles at the doctors still hurt, so how do you think they are going to feel when you get their ears pierced?
Sorry about the rant, but you have touched a nerve there.

My oldest daughter had hers done when she was about 6 or 7 months old. I took her to get them done because I heard it was best to get them done while they're babies. She didn't even cry when they were pierced. It was easier for me to get her ears done then because she didn't mess with them, it was easier to take care of them because I did it. They have the safety backs now that are great with piercing infants ears. The backs lock into place so the little girl can't pull it out and so it wont fall out in her sleep. Is she decides she doesn't want them anymore once she gets older, all she has to do is take them out. The holes will grow closed. I had mine done when I was 1, that was nearly 20 years ago and I still wear earings.

I was about 8 years old when I had my ears pierced. What a waste of time, I wasn't allowed to wear them to school, and forgot about them for a while. Then I discovered that I couldn't wear cheap earrings, so I haven't bothered with them for years.
I think that you should wait until your little girl is a lot older, and then if SHE wants her ears done, she can make up her own mind.

I think you should wait until they are old enough to ask for it done themselves. I'd prefer it if there were at least around nine, but it's not a major decision, so long as they're responsible and keep the piercing clean - it's not permenant as they can take the studs out if they change their mind. If you have a young child make sure they get studs rather than sleepers as sleepers can get caught if they are playing or doing sport, and also go for the gold studs as they are less likely to irritate the skin - they are worth the money.

I had mine done as a baby. At about three months I think. Some children have more sensitive ears just because they are so young. I couldn't wear anything that wasn't 14 karat gold or higher, not even silver, or else I would get a slight infection. My neice had her ears peirced around the same time and hers aren't as sensitive. So just take good care and make sure the earings are always clean.

RE: muslims girls have their ears pierced as soon as they are born, ie 1-2 weeks old
---i think u mean in some indian cultures they have the babies ears pierced quite young ie. a couple of months. i think its actually a hindu tradition. it's actually a good way of doing it coz apparently it hurts less when ur a baby, n wen ur older if u decide u dnt want them, just take out ur earrings n the holes will close up. bt neway, there isn't a age limit n if there is i dnt see the point of it!

It really is up to you. I had my little girls ears pierced just a couple of weeks ago for her 9th Birthday. At this age, she has been able to look after them herself and there have been no problems. She said getting them pierced didn't even hurt.

It doesn't matter an age. My mom was going to get mine done at 6 weeks old, but waited until 6 months old. The younger you do it the less pain. You can take care of them easier too. There is no age. If they are small they will do both ears at once, or you could ask them to do both ears at once. They will have no problem.
