The brainwashing definitely works. Some years ago the North American car industry decided to stop building cars and start selling car parts. Most parts on a car are unique to the car or a few cars sold by the manufacturer. The engineers have been working tirelessly making changes sometimes in the same model year and manufacturing parts in Mexice that are built to barely do the job and to break after warranty.
A saying goes that once you replace all the parts on the car you will have a good car for awhile.
This lead to a shrinkage of market share in favour of Japanese, etc. cars. These cars were built to last and when serviced the parts while expensive are interchangeable over years.
Appearently the North American car companies have notices this reduction in market share and are now moving to correct this but it remains to be seen.

I've owned or been around enough cars of all types to know better then to believe the hype. That free information is biased.
American cars are often good for 150-200 thousand miles, and tend to be safer in accidents.I've seen imports from so-called good brands die within 20 thousand miles, and be made from paper thin metal that needs a lot more money in repairs.

Look, if foreign cars are so reliable and perfect, why do they still sell extended warranties? Every dealership has cars towed into its service drive everyday and HUGE lines in the mornings. I have had Fords all of my life without problems. You probably don't even take care of your vehicles and that is why they breakdown. YOU have obviously been brainwashed. Get off the computer and get a life. Porsche, Audi, and BMW have some of the most dissatisfied customers.

Because I've only & always had Ford trucks/SUV's with no problems. My father has a Chevy that has like 300,000 or 400,000 miles on it. I rather go with what I know then what I read. Truthfully, you can pretty much get any opinion you're looking for online if you look hard enough.

American cars have a lot of power and comfort. That's why people buy American cars.

I can't remember any american car worth buying that was designed in the latest 15 years. You could say 'Humvee'...but heck...it should have stayed a military vehicle.
