Short of natural remedies like black cherry juice, other remedies include motin, alleve, ice and elevate affected extremity. Drink plenty of fluid.
Avoid foods with precursors to uric acid. If symptoms are not relieved go see a doctor.
Also, be careful that the diagnosis of gout is correct cause gout looks like an infection of the skin and joint sometimes.

Gout is a condition where uric acid crystals build up in the body.
This can happen in the area of the big toe and cause a lot of pain.
Our foods contain purines; some foods are higher in this than others.
The doctor may place you on a lower purine diet (of which they will usually provide you a list of foods to avoid. There is also medications that can lower the uric acid in the blood
Here an alternative way to cure gout?

Gout, as you probably already know, is caused by a buildup of uric acid in different parts of the body. Provide pain relief as is necessary with Advil, Tylenol, Aleeve, etc. Place warm compresses on the affected joint. Have him drink as much water as possible he can hold. He should be peeing at least once per hour. Keep the movement to that extremity limited (he can pee in a jug or something). Lay off acidic drinks (i.e.-carbonation, alcohol, etc.) See a healthcare provider and get his uric acid level checked. He may need medication of some sort.

Sorry, don't know of a natural one except to elevate the foot as much as possible and stay off the red wine and crustaceans.
