Because when people do things that are wrong its easier to say the devil made me do it but for people to believe in God they would have to admit what they do is wrong instead of being able to blame it on something or someone.

The truth is that many people on this planet are pessimistic and are not willing to take on their personal faults. Many of these people blame others for their failures......and what a better target than the devil. Nobody can prove that God nor the Devil exist....but to those pessimists it seems like a probable answer for their horrible luck. Also....those people who say they believe in the Devil and not God are usually those people who just want attention......I would completely disregard any of these people....because God and the Devil had given us opinions...which can bring us together or rip us apart. Either way, you're right....you can't have one without the other......so for those people who only believe in the Devil...you either need to seek medical attention or take some anti-depressants because life isn't all that bad. I hope I answered your questions! :)

Some people believe that the devil is greater than god, or at least equal in power, but based on the Christian mythology, anyway, there has to be some God to create the devil.
Of course, other mythologies might claim that the only diety in the universe is evil, and call this diety the Devil, so they wouldn't need any equivalent of the Christian God. In this case, you can have just the one.

That is strange because even the Devil believes in God. So people probably believe only in the devil because of their past and present circumstances. People tend to think that because the way the world seems to be gettng worse and people ask those why me questions and think that God couldn't possibly exist. People blame God for their poverty, disease and etc and don't realize it is the enemy (John 10:10) and their lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6). Fortunate for those who know and believe. It is up to those people to give God a good and proper reputation.

Think of it this way. And I would say this is true of many but not all.
With "everything" you hear that is going on in the world it is mostly negative. With wars, storms, people killing others it is easier to believe in the devil. People tend to look at these things and say that if there was a God, why would he allow these things to happen?
But as one person who has answered this said, we need to begin to trust in God

People only see the devil and God as evil. Non believers would rather blame God for everything than Satan. Sadly, some believers blame them both for everything or one over the other. Sin is the blame for every evil work and Satan is only allowed by God to do some things for testing and trying of our faiths!

Are you talking about satanists? If so, most mainstream satanists don't really believe in the devil. Mainstream satanism isn't even really a religion, more like a sort of philosophy, of trying to be your own god (that's what Lucifer wanted, to just be his own god rather than a slave of somebody else. When he was banished to hell in Paradise Lost, he said something along the lines of, "I would rather be here in Hell than in Heaven with God" Though he suffered some, he still broke the shackles from himself)

That's nonsense. Nobody believes in a devil. Only religion-addicts assume that non-believers go for the devil.

Yeah good question....and even the Devil's ( demons ) believe in God (Jesus)- see below....and why is it everyone will read the newest bestseller but won't pick up the all time best seller - The BIble?
They went across the lake to the region of the Gerasenes.[a] 2When Jesus got out of the boat, a man with an evil[b] spirit came from the tombs to meet him. 3This man lived in the tombs, and no one could bind him any more, not even with a chain. 4For he had often been chained hand and foot, but he tore the chains apart and broke the irons on his feet. No one was strong enough to subdue him. 5Night and day among the tombs and in the hills he would cry out and cut himself with stones.
6When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and fell on his knees in front of him. 7He shouted at the top of his voice, "What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? Swear to God that you won't torture me!" 8For Jesus had said to him, "Come out of this man, you evil spirit!"
9Then Jesus asked him, "What is your name?"
"My name is Legion," he replied, "for we are many." 10And he begged Jesus again and again not to send them out of the area.
11A large herd of pigs was feeding on the nearby hillside. 12The demons begged Jesus, "Send us among the pigs; allow us to go into them." 13He gave them permission, and the evil spirits came out and went into the pigs. The herd, about two thousand in number, rushed down the steep bank into the lake and were drowned.

People who do not believe in one often do not believe in the other. I personally believe in neither of them, they're just part of stories made up to affect the way people behave.
