Sexual relationships: For marriage and one person to produce commitment and enduring friendship or pretentious sex that produce temporal pleasure and in some cases regret?

I think one reason people make sex so common is that they are impatient. They want to rush everything. They dont realize how much more special it could be if they were in a long term relationship with one person like marriage. There are a lot of trade offs in life, but I agree with you on this. People are really missing out by making sex just some thing that can be done with anyone or thing that moves.

BECAUSE...
We're animals and we have a genetic propensity to mate with ever member of the opposite sex we can get our hands on.
That's how we came to have a population of 6.46 billion. Appearantly, the increase and continuation of the species is more important than logical thinking about marriage, friendship and committment.
Besides, sex is a ball of fun! You should have seen it before HIV/AIDS. I could be wrong, but I think that everybody was getting laid at least once a day. And, the 60's flower children were on the wild.
So, now days are spectacularly tame by historical standards. My advice to you is that if you can get some, quit the pontificating and go on and get it. And, just about the time you have your nut, remember that I told you it would be the best experience we have ever discovered. Shut up and enjoy!
If you sit around waiting for that special someone, you won't get any; and then, you might not get any after you're married.
Imagine being married and committed to a person who has decided not to give you any. What a bummer!
And that happens when you find that special person and put them on a pedestal. They feel so special that they could never condescend to your level to gratify you.

It's the changing of the times. People for the most part see sex as a game to score up points. The more men/women a person has sex with the higher the score. Most or all are forgetting the pay off at the end........

Sex with one special person is always better. It is a shame that people regard it as just a casual act.

Sex should have nothing to do with commitment. Sex is for gratification. Commitment is something between two or more people.

I agree 100%.It is far to common and has lost all meaning.It is so much better when their is meaning and love behind it.
