It can ! All you have to do is take off the lid ! Than use a narrow clean object (Antenna Narrow size) and the rest is up to you to figure out the rest !

A little kid got a brand new tube out one day and most of the toothpaste ended up in a nice clean pile. No problem,I just used a baggie. But I'm sure that there have been people who have tried to put it back in the tube,I guess it would work, but it would drive crazy so I think I will pass on that project.

What if you scooped it up and put it in a ziplock. It's airtight just like the tube was. Then just open it up when you need some.

No you can't put it back into the tube, but can take excess and put in small covered cup and use it later.

It can be done but it would require putting another hole in the tube to apply suction.
