Dermabond (glue):
Dermabond is used on the face, arms, legs, torso, and on lacerations smaller than six centimeters long. It is not used for lips, lacerations that are over joints, or most hand and foot lacerations.
The doctor will hold the wound shut and apply a thin layer of Dermabond. Warmth may be felt as the glue sets up. Dermabond is applied in three coats with a 30-second wait in between coats. The wound is then held in place for 60 seconds.
Depending on the case and location of the wound, a dry bandage may be applied. This technique is less frightening for children because no needles are required. In some cases, this technique may be used along with subcutaneous (under the skin) stitches.
Note: The glue acts like a protective coat and is not placed in the wound, or in between the edges of the wound. Do not attempt to use super glue or any other glue to repair lacerations on your own. Getting glue into wounds may prevent the wound from healing properly.

Yes you can use it... But I would do so only in an emercency. If you don't want to go to the Dr and have stitches/staples or medical glue... do to the drug store and get some steristrips or butterfly closure strips... tape the wound closed provided it is not bleeding. if it is go to the hospital they cannot sew anything up after 24 hrs due to risk of infection

Using regular super glue for a wound can irritate the skin; it causes extreme heat which can burn the skin.

No it's not a good choice for an open wound. You will be trapping germs and bacteria that could very well create a more serious injury.

You should contact a health professional if possible. Misuse of cyanoacrylate can definitely cause problems if you don't know what you're doing.

NOOOOOOOOOO, put is away and get to the hospital so they can look at your wound. super glue will only contaminate it and make it worse. you need medical glue.........

yes if the wound is clean, disinfected and not bleeding heavily. It is used in some operations in the place of sutures.
