Because he's putting his best foot forward, then he steps with the other foot and that's when you see his true colors. I think it is wrong personally. That just means that he's trying too hard so you will like him. Maybe next time you can bring it up and tell him that has been your experience in the past. Just be sure you tell him that you don't mind being pampered, it's just that you resent when it goes away so suddenly. Just say that you don't mind it as long as it's really who he is and he's not trying too hard to impress you cause in the end it won't work. Be honest and you can't go wrong.

Ha! I know just what you mean!! But I must say the ball swings both ways...Both genders do it...

My theory is that one is on one's best behavior when one is starting out. You look your best, act your best, etc. You want to make a great impression. You want to make him/her fall in love/lust and you want to do it right. Once the 'honeymoon' is over, well, reality sets in. Those cute little things aren as cute anymore and can even become down-right annoying. One gets used to the person and may even find they arent the right personalty fit, or the other party has been just as well behaved!

And then the proverb- "Why by the pig just for a little sausage?"

On the other hand...

If what you want is romance and compliments, let him know! Could he be tired? Broke? Maybe he's ahving issues of his own...

Sit down with him and have a good heart to heart...

Having a relationship is a full time job. You have to keep working at it, man, by nature love the thrill of the hunt, the chase if you will. for some reason once we capture what or who we want we tend to take it for granted. some man are never satisfied they want more, and that is a fact. try the following: keep the relationship interesting by playing a little hard to get not to much that it will make him think you are not interested in him anymore and instead in some one else. reassure him how valuable you are by doing simple thing other wemen just don't do in other words don't let him take you for granted girl. stand by your man,but not to close you suffocate him. i guess in the dating world the biggest mistake one does is when they give themselves completely to the other and believe me girl it works both ways. good luck.

I real men these things don't stop, but some times both parties tend to stop doing what it took to get eachother and the male picks up on it and instead of talking about it he changes. Now some guys do whatever it takes to get you and once you have allowed him in he will feel he don't have to do any thing else because he have you. We must understand that the same thing it took to get a person it takes the same thing to keep them.

Yes, true, its about trying to catch a woman, when shes caught , he eases off on effort usually. Women do the same thing. Its kind of nice to be able to relax but something is lost too at that point. Turns from exciting to comfortable mostly I think.

It is because men get tired and bored really fast. They start off good and then they change, because a man can only play a role for a short period of time. The real them starts to surface!

It's possible that he's also testing the relationship. By asking this question, are you saying that you only like him because he gives you gifts?

Don't we all show our best behavior when we are trying to impress someone? We let our guard down once we feel comfortable around this new person and act more like ourselves.
