I can't do without my bagel and cream cheese, so I use the "light" cream cheese (not the fat free, I just couldn't take it) but I use just a little tiny bit on my bagel.

So, just like anything, use in moderation, make sure it works with your plan, etc. It's not "good for you", but if you exercise some self-control you can have some.

Yeah, it's pretty bad for most diets. Even if you are on low carb, you still should steer away from fatty foods if you want to lose weight.

A single bagel with cream cheese is 700 calories. That's alot.

avoid cheese if you can. Though they do have protein and calcium, they are full of fats. If you need some, go for low fat varieties.

depends what kinda diet? atkins - should be ok; low fat diet -uh no unless you use low or no fat....also depends on amount too - sometimes on toast or bagel, can be less harmful than butter as far as fat grams go.
