First off, you say "atheists only" then there are christians answering this. So that being a sort of exibit A, I think that many of them like butting in where they aren't really wanted to try and force their religion and religious oppinions down other people's throats.
B, I think that their beliefs are outdated by far. The Bible says the Earth is flat, the sky a dome, and the heavens outside of this dome. We've been to the moon, know the earth isn't flat, and yet people still say EVERY word of the Bible is true. Outdated in my oppinion.
C, most of them seem to know fairly little of the Bible. They don't know the history of it, some haven't even read the whole thing. Most only know, read, or hear things from the New Testament, and know fairly little of the backround of their faith.

Its only to give people something to follow and believe in so they dont feel lost. People like it because it gives them the answers theyve been searching for. Also i think they have some ceremonies or whatever to 'save' someone from all their sins and give them a chance to 'start over'. Those people actualy believe that all the bad things theyve done are now erased and they are "clean". Its not true and it can't be. No one has the power to wash away your sins and it just cant be done. The church just makes it sound very appealing.

I fully recognize that Jesus helps a lot of people, including my Grandma, sleep better at night.
However, I think that, by and large, Christianity embraces intolerance, promotes suffering, and leads to a divisive mindset. The fact is that most faiths thrive on the idea of "Us vs. Them," and cannot survive for long without this way of thinking. Christianity is one of the prime examples of this.
When you add to this the long and bloody history of this particular faith I see a real problem. The problem gets worse when you examine the kind of poison that many (but by no means all) Christians have in their hearts. I have seen plenty of gay kids come to YA looking for advice and be met with absolutely venomous bile spewing forth from people who consider themselves Christians. This is unacceptable.
All in all, I see this faith as standing in the way of a brighter, better future for all of humankind.

At the recent Southern Baptist Convention, the biggest topic of debate was: Did a (probably nonexistent) young rabbi die for the sake of everybody, or only for those who profess belief in him?
Their country is involved in an unwinnable war and THIS is what they choose to debate about?! That tells me everything I need to know about Christianity. It's a club, and a demented one at that.

I think that it really depends on what kind of Christianity you refer to. But most of it is corrupt as a religion, and it is not one of the most peaceful ones, since there have been so many wars because of it and it still nurtures hatred against minorities.
Most of Christian people are ok though, provided that they dont bash people who dont share their beliefs and dont go around preaching and sending people to hell as if it is their task or authority. God will judge, but they think that they can take this task too, amongst many others.

It is a belief system that allows a person to do whatever he wants and still hold himself out to be superior to all others, including those who purportedly share his beliefs if they disagree with his interpretation of the belief.
It is widely popular because there are no requirements for membership and members do not have to conform to any standard or follow any rules.
Christianity is comparable to anarchy.

Christianity it self is bad and the followers are so blind to the fact, that they themselves are confused, but yet they throw their power around as if there were no God
By power I mean words like, GUILT, DAMNATION to subdue the unbeliever, All people hurt inside and Christians get the unbeliever to follow them, but after wards they leave them to their own demise and turn to them and say "It Was Your Choice"

I think it is a mental crutch for people who have hard lives, have gone through hard times, for people who just want 2 worship some1,etc.. It'spurly fanciful, and it makes life seem easier 2 live if they know some great "creator" is constantly watching over them.

I think it is a belief system that is simply outdated. Its followers are supposed to blindly believe whatever stories its holy text contains. I prefer using my analytical skills to decide right/wrong, truth/lies.
