Because muscle weighs 3 times more than fat. You need to be watching your size, not your weight. What's good about having a larger volume of muscle, is that your body consumes more calories even while you are not working out.

Well, lets see. It also depends on what you ate. It takes 3500 calories to gain a pound. Now if you are eating a full breakfast and then a full hamburger at lunch, you probably ate 3500 cal. or close to it. You would not believe how easy it. A kids cheeseburger meal from Mcdonald's is about 500 cal. For two weeks watch what you eat including salt intake and sugar. Plus your portion size. I have lost 35 pounds in about 4 months. I work out 3 to 4 days a week for 1 to 2 hours. I also run for aout 30 minutes. So, I am speaking from experience not crap.

It is hard to know without more details like type of exercise or a change in diet. The way that you have been taught to eat by this society is responsible for making obesity (according to Atlantic Monthly magazine) the # 1 health problem in the world soon to surpass hunger and infectious disease. So you are a victim of this pandemic (epidemic).

You need to re-learn how to eat. The site below covers everything you need to know. Make sure to learn all of it. Do this and you can be thin. Do this not and you will remain part of this pandemic. Obesity will keep getting worse while people worry about imaginary pandemics like the bird flu.

When a person exercises and diets correctly they lose weight (fat) and build muscle. Muscle actually weighs more then fat. So while you are losing fat and inches you are gaining muscle from the exercise and can actually gain some weight from the muscle build.

Because, your fat is coming off, and you are gaining muscle. Muscle weighs a lot more than fats..so don't go by the scale...if you are seeing a difference in the mirror and you are happy with yourself thats all that matters, right?

Muscle weighs more than fat. So when you initially start your workout, you are gaining muscle...which makes you weigh more. If you continue the work-out, the muscle will repalce the fat. Also, water is easily retained when working-out at first...then with time...water will be seen less and less on your body.
