black coffee carries no nutritional value. (and it helps with the caffeine addiction too if you are used to drinking a lot of caffeinated drinks).

It is not good for you but maybe (only you know) not having one will create enough stress to hurt your effort to remain on a diet. The way that you have been taught to eat by this society is responsible for making obesity (according to Atlantic Monthly magazine) the # 1 health problem in the world soon to surpass hunger and infectious disease. So you are a victim of this pandemic (epidemic).

You need to re-learn how to eat. The site below covers everything you need to know. Make sure to learn all of it. Do this and you can be thin. Do this not and you will remain part of this pandemic. Obesity will keep getting worse while people worry about imaginary pandemics like the bird flu.

I have just got through with the grapefruit diet( I don't like this diet) and the way the creator of the diet suggest is that you cut back from drinking alot of coffee but not totally illiminate your coffee( maye 1 cup per meal). It gives your body balance . Plus I believe they said that caffiene will cause your body not to burn as many carbs and fats they needs to be burned on the diet( the purpose of this particular diet is to burn fat and carbs). Hope this helps

yes black coffee has no nutritional value and is also a diuretic which will help you shed water wait the caffeine in coffee will all so speed up your metabolism witch will help you burn more calories . also when dieting you become a little tired because of the carbs that are normally reduced the caffeine may give you the energy your looking for.

May not be your direct answer, but my elderly mother just got a copy of Reader's Digest, and in there is something that states that the caffeine (specifically in coffee, but...) can keep Alzheimer's and some other maladies away. I imagine overdoing anything can be harmful, but sometimes you don't want to ignore things that can help you in some form either. Stay away from Duncan Donuts and Dairy Queen!!! I would question Starbucks...

Sure, just take it easy on the sugar, try Equal or Splenda, it's better than nothing! Maybe a little low fat creamer would be ok.
