They probably don't like your boyfriend. Just like in a people a big change like that can trigger new behaviors.

The animals see your boyfriend as a new animal in their territory. They already had established the "pecking order" and then you brought in a contender for the spot. The balance has been destroyed and they need to establish a new hierarchy for the pack. They are now both vying for the head animal spot most likely. Also, they may not care for the person you brought in. That adds extra stress on the situation. How long and often did you have your boyfriend come over before you moved him in? They may not be used to this person at all, and needed to be considered as part of your family unit - now you will have to allow things to settle before they consider this intruder part of the pack. Give them both lots of extra positive attention, as they may be feeling rejected by you and/or jealous of him. Sooner or later they should see he will be there, and perhaps they will grow to like him (the cat and dog will also settle down with each other as they already have known each other awhile). Keep in mind an animal's sixth sense: they do seem to know which people can be trusted...

There might be a problem with the guy: There was one young male (notice I do not say man) that the cat I had at the time didn't like at all. It turns out that he had a good reason.
Otherwise, it could be simple jealousy. Has your boyfriend tried playing with both pets? And it might help if you try to give them extra attention too.
Good luck!
