my legs don't reach the other side so i slip around, hard to stay up

Too long is better than too short, if you ask me! That's just... extra roomy. Maybe even good for two!
The ideal length would just depend on preference, though I imagine most people want a bath at least long enough to stretch out in. :)

if you slip try using a milk crate at the other end...plastic one .... it makes it more comfy for you...the ideal length is for average hight of a man... 5'10...

52" is standard....but you can buy 72" also, as long as it fits in the space, that's great....
