just curious if all people get raped when they go to jail, or if men have consensual sex with each other

Not all get raped; and yes, there is consensual sex.

Most that go to "jail" do not get raped, but many who go to prison do. The difference is jail (usually county or city run and your time there is always less then a year) vs. prison where the minimum sentence in most states is a year. The highest security prisons don't have a lot of problems with it because they manage the inmates pretty much one at a time; but the mid security prisons do have a big problem with it.

I have never been there, or know of anyone who has. I did have an ex prison guard work for me at one time. He didn't talk about anyone getting raped, not something guys talk about, but I do believe they all get free meals, cable TV, paid college education, all cutesy of us taxpayers. I hear the average cost to keep an inmate is $40'000+ a year. So lets say one guy steals and crashes 40 new cars. who pays for it? You and I. We also pay to keep him in a nice jail cell, all rent free to him. One thing is for sure, he may not get raped, but all us taxpayers are.

not all, but many, of those who go to prison do. its a lot less common but still a problem in jails. Rape is used as one form
of threat against prisoners by guards, which is the worst aspect
of the problem. Worse, a rape victim who kills his rapist still
goes down for murder 1

Lets put it this way, the prison gangs are a poor excuse for a government, but then the republican party does not provide a government that protects any but there own. So what is a person or a criminal do, write a letter?

Not if you are a big tough galoot.Everyone would fear you. If you are an average size guy with no fighting skills, then you are a prime candidate for rape in jail/prison.

no all don't, it does happen, but it is normally done as a matter of force not for the sex. There are plenty of other inmates who don't mind having sex for various favors. it is a way to earn protection ( there are alot of gangs in prison) a way to pay off debts ( alot of gambling both cards and betting on games)

Pretty much...you would have a chance if you were the biggest guy...it's kind of a given that will happen.
