Just noticing that some folks on here are very mislead.

1. Evolution is not a proven fact it is a theory.

I do have a question though, why do some of yall(athiest) like to jump on christians for spreading thier word, when in fact by jumping on them you in fact are doing the same thing.

Basiclly what I am saying if you don't like religion, don't open the religion questions.

BTW, babies are proof evolution is a fact. Babies (of any species) evolve from dirt (and other stuff). Or, do you believe babies magically appear?

What? The only dirt I came from is when God made Adam.

Exactly!..I Agree!.....myself as well as a few others has been asking the same questions and got no response that makes sense!......The Truth of The matter is:...atheists, agnostics, non-believing GOD Haters Are sooooo insulting And Disrespectful to the Religious/Spiritual Authority of believers rights to serve GOD!...They Speak About Constitutional Rights, But They Don't Want Religious/Spiritual People To Have Their Rights!.......The facts & evidence proves that they come on this site for one reason, and one reason only......To INSULT, CONDEMN, JUDGE, MOCK, AND HARRESS THE TRUE BELIVERS!........Their EVIL Is Being Proven Everyday!...If Non Believers Don't Like Religion....Then Why Log On To A Religious/Spiritual Site?....Duh!

your statement #1 shows that you do not possess even a rudimentary grasp of science. I do not mean to be condescending or rude, but you simply can’t conduct an honest discussion of evolution when you are speaking from emotion and ignorance.

The word 'theory' is thrown around these days like it means a good idea. It does not. In fact the word theory has a very specific meaning in science. One thing a theory is NOT is a part of some developmental sequence through which scientific ideas pass because of increased evidence from theory to law. A theory and a law are very different kinds of knowledge and one never becomes the other. Never. To say differently is ignorance.

A law describes behaviors whereas a theory describes processes. Gravity behaves in a very precise and predictable manner that we can measure. HOW it does this is a theory, either through waves, particles, or as Einstein says, the warping of space-time. The existence of gravity, however, is not in question; it is a fact. The same analogy holds true for evolution.

A theory must do two things, first, it must "accurately describe a large class of observations on the basis of a model that contains only a few arbitrary elements" and it must "make definite predictions about the results of future observations". A theory has already undergone an intense process of testing. This testing is done not to prove the theory correct or another theory incorrect, but rather to verify its predictions and observations. Any theory is always provisional, it is never proved. Therefore, a scientific theory is as good as it gets, it is 'truth' until predictions fail or more precise observations are made that no longer fit the model. Evolution succeeds completely in this regard.

Science is first and foremost a set of logical and empirical methods which provide for the systematic observation of empirical phenomena in order to understand them. We think we understand empirical phenomena when we have a satisfactory theory which explains how the phenomena work, what regular patterns they follow, or why they appear to us as they do. Scientific explanations are in terms of natural phenomena rather than supernatural phenomena, although science itself requires neither the acceptance nor the rejection of the supernatural.

I strongly suggest you read something on evolution and science in general. It is not enough to read only what your clergy suggests, because you must understand fully that with which you disagree.

What do you mean by "jump on?"

It is a fact the bible is a book of mythology and supernatural entities ("Gods") do not exist in fact.

The bible is subject to individual interpretation, so when a person claims to know what the bible says (means), or what "God" said, they are attempting to give undue authority to a personal opinion.

And, should be identified as offering a personal opinion, or "jumped on" for doing so.

Actually, athiests have the ability to question theories instead of let people brainwash them into believing religion.

Evolution is a theory with scientific facts to prove it.
Adam and Eve is also a theory, but I don't see any realistic facts to back it up. Perhaps you would like to enlighten me on what those are.

We are not JUMPING, it's the fact that we don't open our mouths when people try and force feed us beliefs.

If there are some cute female Christians, around 30 or 40, that I can jump on, I want to.

not really an answer.

evolution is theory. But it is the scientific definition of a theory which means there is proof that supports it and that is generally accepted, but we don't know for sure.

That is way more than can be said for creationism.

Great point!
As you know, all people are searching for truth. God placed that drive in us to seek him. People are simply reaching out for answers even when they lash-out when you try to guide them. That's the good vs evil dilemma we are born with.

we don't care if you spread your word just don't tell us we r wrong for what we believe it is not your place to tell us what to believe in....and what gets really annoying is the fact that most but not all Christians try to recruit people that's messed up if we want to believe we will and if we don't then its because we don't want to so leave us alone...i never look down on some one for their faith but i do look down on someone telling me how to live my life i will live the way i feel is best and not how some book tells me to live
