You can't make hair grow fast. Keeping it trimmed so the ends don't break off is important. Make sure your shampoo or conditioner does not have any moisturizers in it. Blowdrying it after the shower also helps dry up the oil glands. the hotter the air, the better. Shampoo twice each shower and really scrub the scalp with your fingernails. Good luck.

To keep your hair from getting really greasy only wash your hair but maybe every other day,and if you use conditioner use a small amount. A suggestion try switching brands of shampoo n conditioner every couple of months. N there is no way to make ur hair grow it has to grow on it's own, just dont cut it!

Wash at least every 3 to 4 days, to start a routine in washing your hair. If your hair is greasy feeling sooner, then try every 2 days and if its too dry, then every 4 to 5 days. The only person who will know exactly how soon you need to wash your hair is YOU!

If it feels greasy/dirty, then it is!

How to grow your hair longer
1. Patience! because it takes time 1/2 inch per month. It varies a bit from person to person.
2. Drink lots of fluids - at least 64 ounces of water a day - purify your body and keeps your roots healthy.

3. Infusium 23 helps to strengthen the roots, spray it on, helps you to comb out your hair without Yanking your hair out of your head. Also a Sheening product you can pick up at Sally's Beauty Supplies will help keep the hair shiny, glossy and healthy.

4. Genetics - look at the members of your family. Is their hair thick, thin, greying early, balding patterns etc.

5. Patience! Lots of it.

I have hair clear down to my tail bone almost to the point of sitting on it...it takes up to about 10 years to get it that long nearly 36 inches of it at a half inch every month. 1 Years growth is 6 inches.

If you really want long hair, you can do what I did. Depending on the length of your hair now - I had my hair cut early on in an "Undercut". The hair stylists know what this is - divide the hair in three parts across the head - cut the inner layer short, then the next layer a little bit longer, and the outer layer the longest.

Why....when you get your hair to that certain length I call the Frustration stage (at the base of the neck or shoulder) of "I can't do anything with it" stage, it will at least hang nice and pretty. As it gets longer, you can pull it back somewhat, and then you know you are seriously on your way to long hair when you can actually braid the hair from the nape of your neck down.

Don't brush your hair while its wet - this causes split ends.

Don't over wash or over color treat your hair, this will damage your hair too.

Don't bleach (blonde) your hair if you want healthy long hair - your hair will break of at different lengths and look froshy - short hairs everywhere that are not in your control.

Make sure the bands you use to tie your hair back do NOT pull your hair out or break the hair. I use the clear little bands to tie mine back, they pull out clean and do not break the hair.

Be sure to rinse the shampoo and conditioners out of your hair so that it won't get that greasy feeling so early on.

Always wash your hair after exercising...you need to keep the scalp clean of any gunky build up.

At least once every couple or 3 months or so, use a clarifying shampoo that removes excess shampoo build up.

Follow these little instructions, and you will have long healthy hair.

I am a pro on this.. I deal with it everyday

Wash hair with a shampoo that contains zinc (Head and Shoulders or Wella System Professional Regulate work well), and shampoo daily. Contrary to popular belief, shampoo is not damaging --- as long as you avoid harsh shampoos that strip the hair of its natural emollients. Avoid conditioning the roots and scalp, and you should be able to remain shine-free much longer than usual.
If you're really crunched for time, simply rub baby powder into the roots of dry hair, to soak up oils. But be sure to shake the excess powder out, otherwise you'll end up with unsightly white streaks. Finally, for midday touchups, try blotting your scalp with an oil-blotting strip made for the face.

Here are some tips on oily hair prevention and resolution:

The most important thing you can do to prevent or resolve oily hair is to shampoo your hair daily. For people who tend to have a problem with oily hair, leaving the shampoo on your head for at least 5 minutes before rinsing may help.
Avoid brushing your hair too often or too vigorously, since the brushing will carry oil from your scalp to the ends of your hair.
Hormones affect oil production and therefore things that affect your hormone levels (such as stress) may also affect the oiliness of your hair.http://www.healthcentral.com/ency/408/002042.html

Believe it or not, extra virgin olive oil on your scalp and hair is the trick, I swear by it. Massage some of it on your scalp and hair twice a week, leave it for at least 15 to 30 minutes then shower. Your hair will be softer and shinier too. If you wrap your head in a plastic bag to warmth, that helps more. Try it a few times and let me know if it works for you. It's awsome - good luck!

First of all, if you use too hot of water that can strip the oil from your hair and makes you produce double the amount to make up for the oil you've stripped out of your hair, therefore you feel the need to wash everyday. Also if you don't put conditioner on your hair afterwards, it can lead to an oily scalp....and you should use warm water for shampooing and cooler water for rising out the conditioner, it seals moisture in that way scalp oils don't over produce. hope this helps

Wash it everyday. Blow dry. When it gets greasy zap it with the blow dryer again. Take vitamin B 12 or prenatal vitamins. Don't cut it unless the ends are unhealthy. Try using a little less conditioner. Use one of those deep cleaning shampoos once a week or dish soap (dawn) once a month.
