The movie is based on a book which is pure fiction, so the movie is just fiction brought to the screen. Don't change your beliefs because of the movie.

the author of the novel doesn't hide the fact that it's fiction. so, all of the christians who are getting over-excited and are teaching classes at churches to "fight the lies" in the davinci code are basically wasting their time.
what the movie does do is entertain, inform, and [to an extent] open up a discussion about the roots and beliefs of christianity. it should be okay to question the religion, although for a very long time, it wasn't. times have obviously changed, thank goodness.
so, maybe the davinci code could make someone question their faith: not by presenting its premise as true but simply by presenting the possibility of christianity being fallacious. and, of course, there's nothing wrong with someone questioning their beliefs.
edit, to Kenneth S:
a more relevant question, i think, would be why someone would waste their time reading trash written by you. what a ridiculous waste of an answer.

That depends on the individual. Personally I did not believe anything said in the book/movie. But the book was really interesting material. The movie did not do much justice to the book. The author proved that he had done extensive research for the book.

Not at all on either count. Even the author himself says it is nothing but fiction, which means no truth in it, made up, not true. I believe in the bible, not a ficticious book or movie.
