I've never understood the doctrine of "love the sinner but hate the sin." When "the sin" is how you define a person (e.g., homosexual, liberal, feminist, believer-in-science, dancer-around-fires or whatever), then how can you claim to be loving the person while hating the very thing that -- in your eyes -- makes him who he is?

If christians define themselves by their belief, and if I fear and despise everything that their belief stands for, then I have to admit that I would not choose to spend time with christians if I could avoid it (with the exception of family and friends who don't care what I believe).

I'm a Christian but you don't have to love me in God's eyes we are all brothers and sisters (although sometimes I hate to admit it because of some people) so you just have to respect what we do and the religion. I don't like any other Gods I only love God. I also wish that non-believers would be raised right when they were a kid.

Rocky has a point. Mr. Darwin is definitely searching for something. I pray daily he finds it.

Now to answer your question. Yes, just like I, as a Christian, am supposed to love the sinner and hate the sin.

LOL! :)

I try to love everybody on some level... and about 90% of the people I know in real life are Christian, if not more. I love them... and there are some that are particularly cool about my beliefs and my path. I don't even mind their Christianity as long as they don't try to hit people over the head with it.

I believe after Jim Darwin completely evolves he is going to be a great Christian. Maybe even a preacher.

yes...just like i support the troops but not the war

but i don't think you should send new releases on DVD and cookie baskets to people just because they are Christians....only if they are a christian overseas at war

but i guess its up to you, you don't have to love Christians if you don't want to

Why not? We can love people (the Christian) and accept their beliefs even if we dislike them (the Christianity). I love my best friend but i dislike his belief that there is not a God. But i respect the fact that he has different beliefs than i do, and he respecs the fact that i am Catholic and he loves me, just not my religion.

We should love all men, as Jesus did and does. Christians, Jews, Muslims, Atheists, Mormons, everyone!

If you are talking about the Church that was founded by Jesus, the teaching of the Catholic Church on faith and morality is beautifully perfect.

But not all Catholics live up to the teachings. If everyone in the world were Catholic and lived up to the teachings of the Catholic Church on faith and morals, the world would be a perfect place to live.
