Fibromyalgia is an autoimune disease. It affects the connective tissure of a person. I personally have the condition.
I donated muscle tissue to a medical school back in Boston. The doctor doing research told me that people with Fibromyalgia have troubles with enzymes in the muscle cells. The doctor also said that people with Fibromyalgia have 3 to 5 times more neurotransmitters up the spine. That means we feel things more than the average person does. It also means that the hypothalmis gets non stop messages from the body to the brain. This is what makes it hard to sleep. When a person doesn't sleep the body doesn't have time to heal while sleeping. Some consider Fibromyalgia is a sleep disorder. It is just that so much pain is felt that it is hard for the brain to shut down and rest so that the body can heal.
Some experts can feel the tissue below the skin and just know that a person has fibromyalgia.
It is not curable, but it is managable. Get plenty of sleep. Balance life. Eat healthy. And do stretches and exercise daily. The lack of exercise can make Fibromyalgia worse. the connective tissue gets stiff and then it hurts worse to exercise.
It may hurt worse at first to exercise but start slow and sure.
You will have to know your body well and not push yourself beyond your energy or you will pay for it later. It is a balancing act of rest, activity, diet, sleep. and a peaceful mind

Fibromyalgia (FM or FMS) is a debilitating chronic syndrome (constellation of signs and symptoms) characterized by diffuse or specific muscle, joint, or bone pain, fatigue, and a wide range of other symptoms. It is not contagious, and recent studies suggest that people with fibromyalgia may be genetically predisposed[1]. It affects more females than males, with a ratio of 9:1 by ACR (American College of Rheumatology) criteria [2]. Fibromyalgia is seen in 3% to 6% of the general population, and is most commonly diagnosed in individuals between the ages of 20 and 50. The nature of fibromyalgia is not well understood, with many frustrated physicians driven to accusing their patients of feigning illness. There are few, if any, treatments available, and there is no cure, but the disease is not life-threatening.

FMS (fibromyalgia syndrome) is a widespread musculoskeletal pain and fatigue disorder for which the cause is still unknown. Fibromyalgia means pain in the muscles, ligaments, and tendons - the soft fibrous tissues in the body.

Most patients with FMS say that they ache all over. Their muscles may feel like they have been pulled or overworked. Sometimes the muscles twitch and at other times they burn. More women than men are afflicted with FMS, and it shows up in people of all ages.

To help your family and friends relate to your condition, have them think back to the last time they had a bad flu. Every muscle in their body shouted out in pain. In addition, they felt devoid of energy as though someone had unplugged their power supply. While the severity of symptoms fluctuate from person to person, FMS may resemble a post-viral state. This similarity is the reason experts in the field of FMS and chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) believe that these two syndromes may be one and the same. Gulf War syndrome also overlaps with FMS/CFS.

It appears to be a permanent chronic disease, but there are treatments to help it go away.

I call it fibromyassa because as ADD and ADHD I do not believe any of them exist. They are catch alls for a lot of symptoms.
If I go to the doctor and say I have mood swings, I am tired all the time, my body aches and I just have joint pain all over. GUESS WHAT I AM DIAGNOSED WITH? Yep......Fibromyassa.

My kid won't pay attention in school and he hit another kid. Give him meds, he has ADHD.

I have aches and pains every day. A lot of people do. A lot of people don't want to get up at 6:00 a.m. to go to work either. And everyone can have burning sensations in different parts of their body. It is the greatest disease ever because there is no way to prove or disprove. There is no way to prove or disprove ADD or ADHD either. So, if you want to have it, you can.

A few years ago my friends son was in college. He found out that he didn't have to work if he went to the doctor and gave the doctor the symptoms of ADD. The doctor would give him Ritilin and he could sell it to the kids and make a lot of money. It was easier than delivering pizzas all night.

Sorry to get off the fibromyassa, but you could say everyone can have it. So, of course there is no known cure for it.........
