Vitamin E, one of the antioxidants, can be taken regularly as part of a daily vitamin and mineral supplement or spread as in an ointment on sunburn. Vitamin C is another antioxidant that will help prevent severe damage from sunburn and shorten its effects. Selenium is a mineral that will help fight sunburn.

Alo Vera is like magic on burns.
Prevention of burns is the best way to treat sunburn, you can't treat what you don't have. haha
You can buy it. Or you can keep an alo vera plant at home. I use it for burns in the kitchen. It is amazing how well it works. In the plant you break off a piece and the gel is inside of it.

aloe vera is a great plant for its natural use for burns. the old myth is butter, it makes it more worse. the best method is keeping cool water on it say in the bathtub. the colder the water the better. i've put a bag of ice in the tub of cold water and it not only felt great, it helps the stinging go away.
