I don't know if scientifically it can be referred to as a "meteorite," but it was a stone sent from heaven, which came down pure and white, but then turned black due to sin on this world.

Yes, we kiss it during Hajj (if it's possible, without harming ourselves by pushing through the crowd or things of that sort,) but it's a Sunnah and that's why we do it. (Sunnah - example/way of the beloved prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.)
