Not sure if it helps you lose weight per se.

Egg whites are good for you because they are made w/ albumin - it's basically pure protein. Egg yolks are fatty and have a lot of cholesterol. So, eating egg whites vs. whole eggs is better for you & has less calories which in turn will help you lose weight. (But, if you eat tons of egg whites, like any other food, you will gain weight).

The thing about egg whites is they are almost pure protein. They have no fat, don't contain cholesterol, don't have carbohydrates, and have very few calories. It's an almost unbeatable combination! The only problem with eating egg white is they have no fibre, so you have to make sure to eat veggies with them. One really neat way to do that is to make an egg white foo yung (that's like a scrambled egg, but using only the whites of the egg mixed with a little water) and pouring it over freshly sauted bean sprouts with chopped up peppers.
Enjoy!

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

One other note - the reason that the high protein level in eggs is good is because it will promote muscle growth. Some folks believe that more muscle tissue = higher metabolic rate, thus burning more calories.
