Firstly, I am not a doctor. But I am giving this advice after 28 years of suffering from "Premature Degenerative Disc Disease". I literally CAN'T go all out. I had yet another surgery last July, which made it lucky #7 and I gained weight because I couldn't do anything. It was critical because they put a cage in my lower back and fused it again. Well, the surgeon said to get up and start slowly walking. It went from that to a faster pace. Then I put leg wieghts around my ankle. Now, I go to the gym and ride the exercycle. I also fast walk the treadmill. Under the advice of my surgeon, I am now allowed to use weights three times a week. Certain weights are off limits, however. Now, on the exercycle and treadmill, you can monitor your heart rate, so that might be a possible but ask the doctor first. I continue to take medication because I need another surgery, but the exercise has been fruitful. I feel better and I don't feel so blue and like a shut-in. I am only 42 and not 92! So, I feel for you. If you can afford it, hire a personal trainer and this individual can taylor make a cardio safe plan for you. I couldn't afford it so I depended on the surgeon and on my mother who is a doctor. You know what she would say? She would advise her patients to get up and get going BUT with this caveat: STOP immediately if you feel a headache coming. Your own body will tell you when to stop. I know mine does and I depend on my Central Nervous System to tell me when it's time to stop. At the first threat of pain, I stop immediately. In effect, my own body has developed a training plan for me. Get better, ok? Your life is out there waiting!

Please do not starve yourself or use diet pills. Besides not actually working in the long run, both of these are very unhealthy. If you're a migraine sufferer, like me, you'll probably find unnecessary pill taking first a turn off, and secondly could actually cause you to suffer more migraines.
The only way to lose weight is to burn more calories than you consume. Period. You can do that by limiting your calorie intake, or burning more with physical activity. It's easier to limit your calorie intake, and healthier to limit your calorie intake while also increasing your physical activity (gradually).
The easiest way to "diet" (or lower your calorie intake) is to fill up on foods that are low calorie, high density. That is to say, foods that make you feel satisfied and full, while having a low calorie count. Choose any fruits and vegetables (except potatoes, parsnips, peas). Limit meats, pastas, rice, cereals and breads. Still include them, but keep serving sizes small, and only 1 serving from these groups at each meal (2-3 a day). You don't have to completely exclude things like chocolate, sweets, etc. But you do need to really limit them.
Most importantly watch the hidden calories. Switching to low fat margarine over butter, 2% or skimmed milk, and cutting out soft drinks with sugar (watch the juices and things like iced tea... they can actually have a higher calorie count that soft drinks).
Don't push yourself too quickly. A nice steady weight loss of a pound to two pounds a week is healthy, and acheivable and you will be more likely to keep it off than a crash diet with fast results. Good luck!

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.
The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.
Get started today!

If you drink any kind of soda, STOP. Same with chocolate. If you drink tea, cut out the sugar. If you drink alcohol, STOP. Some foods can trigger headaches. Natural sugars in fruits are enough. Is the medicine for the headaches, or for another medical problem? You may try some stretches and just regular walking. Have you ever considered seeing a chiropractor? I work for a doctor and I've seen many people come in with severe migraines. A few treatments may just give you some much needed relief. Find a reputable one in your area and give it a try. Let us know how you are doing and good luck.

The way that you have been taught to eat by this society is responsible for making obesity (according to Atlantic Monthly magazine) the # 1 health problem in the world soon to surpass hunger and infectious disease. So you are a victim of this pandemic (epidemic).
You need to re-learn how to eat. The site below covers everything you need to know. Make sure to learn all of it. Do this and you can be thin. Do this not and you will remain part of this pandemic. Obesity will keep getting worse while people worry about imaginary pandemics like the bird flu.

Core secrets would be a good idea. When you are working out, everything is stationary, and the majority of the exercises can be done by staying in one place and moving your arms/legs/abs. My mom does this because she has 2 bad knees and can't jump around and stuff like that, and she's lost 14 pounds.
