How can Christians live with all the contradictions in the bible?
Does your faith have the final word even if you find these contradictions? How can you believe in the trinity that Jesus never taught anything about this , but this is a very strong belief in christianity? And how can you claim things on Jesus that was never said out of his own mouth?

To the person that said im trying to make people stop believing. That is not true. Im not trying to convert you or anything like that. I believe there is a spot in the hereafter(heaven) for all good people that believe in 1 single good. but you have to be blind to think everything you read is true. you have to seek the truth not just think what i was born and raise under is true and because most people are Christians. your not gonna go to hell for doing a little research. And to the person that said i said Jesus said there was contradiction in bible, I never said that.

How can you say, "We are wise,
for we have the law of the Lord,"
when actually the lying pen of the scribes
has handled it falsely?Jeremiah 8:8
Does that shows corruptions in the book happen or will happen?

to one of the members that wrote an answer that said God talked about the forth coming of the holy spirit. When Jesus said if I Do not go then the comforter can not come. And that the he that will come and teach and will convict the world of sins and be righteously and bring judgement. How can that be a holy spirit when the it was said the holy spirit has always been around. it doesnt sound like Jesus was talking the holy sprit, sounds like Jesus was talking about another man?????

Contradictions? in the Bible? Where are they?

Look at it like this. If you and five other people see a crime happen how many viewpoints will an officer get? The answer......six. Some things you all would say would be the same. However everyone may say something different. Does that mean that all of you are wrong or would it be that each person would say what he saw from his own perspective.

Now let me ask a question of you. If the Bible says that we are to honor our parents and then says through Jesus that we are to hate our parents in order to follow him, is this a contradiction?

If this is then there are a lot of people who are married that hate their parents. What I am trying to say is this. If you get married, you will love that person more than you love your parents. But you will not love your parents any less. The above question has this for an answer: We are always to honor our parents. But when it comes to God and Jesus the way we feel for them should look like hate compared to our love for God and His Son. but you will still love your parents.

The supposed contradictions in the Bible with honest study and thought can be reconciled. Just as the policeman will not throw out all of your accounts to a crime. Sometimes even the "contradictions" prove to show your accounts to be true rather than false.

I have not seen any contradictions in the bible. What bible are you reading from if any? Everything I believe I can show from any bible you hand me including the Catholic bible and never have I found any contradictions. Trinity, Jesus spoke of. He spoke of His Father, did He not? Did he speak of the Holy Spirit whom He would send when He went back to Heaven? Oh, and I think the Father spoke when Jesus was baptized saying that Jesus was His beloved Son. Father, Son, Holy Spirit. Sounds like a trinity to me. Where is the contradiction or anything that did not come from Jesus mouth? Even Jesus said He was the Son of God, and that if you saw Him you had seen the Father which is in Heaven. I would like to know where the contradictions are that you speak of but have not shared even one. Better do some studies at the link below.

Ah, but Christ did teach about the Trinity. He spoke of God the Father, claimed to be God the Son, and told of the coming of God the Holy Spirit.

I see no contradictions in the bible. I know people try to point them out, but they are wrong and easily explained. So if you want, post a question for each place that you think is a contradiction and let's tackle them.

I myself am a strong Christian. I do not believe anything on the earth is perfect, including our religion, our interpretations of the Bible. Nothing on this earth can be perfect. But God knows this, as we all should. I can read from The KJV and 1'000 others do the same. Not all of us will come out with all the same interpretations. So it is by faith in God, faith in what we understand to be true that counts. I talked to someone who did not understand the belief in a Trinity. I said picture this, you are getting married, and have just been told you are of one flesh now, of one mind, you will act as one, however they put it. Now we know that you are still two individuals, yet you do everything as one mind-set.You have children and become the 'Smith' family. You are one unit, yet there are ten of you running around. Okay, now that you have 8 kids to take care of, I'll shut up and let you take care of your family. Peace !

What contradictions? Before you start citing, please refer to this list:

http://www.tektonics.org/lp/merrit01.html

And the trinity is implied, though Jesus does not teach it explicitly, He has implied it in such passages as:

John 10:30 - "I and the Father are one." said by Jesus.

John 5:18 - "For this reason the Jews tried all the harder to kill him (Christ); not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God."

The Holy Spirit is also referred to as "He" in the Bible, not "it" and is described as having an omnipresent quality - shared only with God and Jesus.

And if you are referring to the Epistles, Paul was pretty much hand-picked by Jesus to teach more things as he was carried along by the Holy Spirit.

2 Timothy 3:16 - "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness..."

2 Peter 3:15-16 - "Bear in mind that our Lord's patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him. He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction."

Notice the telling words, "other Scriptures?" The Epistles has been considered scriptural by one of Jesus's very apostles.

The Bible was written by man and inspired by GOD. That is why you should always pray for wisdom and Gods meaning before you read. Let the HOLY SPIRIT lead you and their is no question that GOD is real just ask for forgiveness from your heart and you will know to.

Why don't you do something positive?? Go feed a homeless person or help some poor widow lady out ... You just want to tear down and destroy something that you don't even understand. Mindless primate non thinking. I need to not loose a grip on my emotions and pray that you will eventually evolve into something that will have a minimal understanding. Just keep on trying to understand...

Jesus commanded his disciples to baptize in the name of the father, son, holy spirit. Aka "HOly Trinity" maybe you should read the bible before you make bogus criticizm. peace.

Even if there werent any contradictions, people would make them up anyway.

People choose to believe whatever is convenient for them. People believe in the bible not being reliable so they will feel comfortable without it
