Are there any American military or government offices in the area? I do not know about Spain and if U.S. Air Force is located there. But I am sure if you talked to one in person, they are more than willing to give you information.

Also, I would try again contacting with another e-mail on the airforce.com site. Sometimes, it takes awhile with people that have lots of questions, even also see if you can call and find a number on the site for recruitment, explain your situation with an Air Force recruiter.

All branches of Service have recruiting personnel in Europe. The Air Force is a pilot and aircraft oriented branch of the service. Due to their drawdowns in support personnel (30,000) this year, they are not recruiting heavily. They are probably not willing to spend the money to send someone from Germany to Spain for just you. Likewise, due to the orientation of the Air Force, they most likely will not guarantee you a job in your contract and do not guarantee first assignments to people as a rule of thumb. If you want to join the Air Force, you need to know that the Air Force comes first, not your happiness, and that whatever job you are stuck in is yours, like it or not. The Navy and Army ar ethe only branches that seem to care about job placement, with the Army using job satisfaction as it's retention tool. Pick the job you want when you enlist, enjoy it, you'll probably reenlist. The Air Force will make you go to their recruiting office if you wish to enlist.

They're probably trying to figure out which recruiter needs to call you. I know they ahve recruiters in Germany, but that's not much help, I know. Try airforce.com again. Sometimes they get a whole bunch of requests at once, and some get overlooked.

Well, that I don't know. Also, if you would join the Air Force, there is no guarantee that they will ship you to Spain. They'll put you where they think they need you. Just remember, once you raise your hand, and give that oath......you belong to the US Goevernment from that moment on.....

Try contacting multiple sites. Go to www.military.com and click on the Air Force tab.
